Guest Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Try drapers' twist pins to bodge up the headlining. PS: Montegos are the rulingest, good luck with the sale.
Guest Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 The Nonego won an award from the Design Council London. That is all.
Guest Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I worked in the Design Council Caff in Haymarket in 1984-5. If you had some megashite coffee there, I'm sorry, it was me that made it.
ayrshirelad Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Congrats on the Twin news!!! Dear me want one and get 2!.!!. Hope the Monti goes to a good home if you manage to sell her. Unless the unsaleable Luton Barge o got goes i canny help unfortunalty! Two cars sitting at front door and a shed full allready!
aldo135 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 Thanks for the comments! Cheers for the tip breadvan. Would swap for a big estate/ 7 seater?
seacow Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Now with 6 months tax! MOT August God thats a bargain - my drive is full - but thats cheap and comfy motoring for someone!! Come on shiters someone must want this - with the tax the car itself cost is under £400!!!!
HillmanImp Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 That is cheap. Somone must want it. However it seems that the current trend is people mainly offloading cars. Dont know if it a sign of the economy prices etc but stuff like this would have caused a fuss a while abck and would have been snapped up. GLWTS ETC
ayrshirelad Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Canny have 3 cars sitting at front door! That cause mega domestic abuse in my direction Either omega have to go asap or make space in shed. Need to strip spares car to do that though. Work and general life holding that up! Car is as good in flesh if not better than the pics show it to be though. Nice Monti. Wonder how I could persuade the gaffer to have 3 out front??? Hmm problems problems!

I'm in the same boat after picking up an Austin monty last week but at this price I am thinking I could get it in the Spain bedroom!!!
ayrshirelad Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Hheheh aye if i get the Monti then i get an offer to part x the omega for a zt or 75 and i canny afford to do the latter,!!!! then i be in the doggies do do big time! Monti or Ital or Marina end up being daily all year round. Hmm wonder if ikea do flat packed storage spaces for cars in the shape of Muti storey car parks???
aldo135 Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Hillman Imp - your right mate buyers market just now, see more and more swaps as well. Take it no luck with the Omega either Ayrshire Mike?
ayrshirelad Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 None what so ever!. I have been offered a px against a 75 or zt when one becomes avaialable in my price bracket which is very low! Seems Omega are in a high insurance group, as when i checked ou how much difference it would be, between said omega and a .5 v6 zt, the zt worked out at 38 quid cheaper! Do no ask i did and the answer i got was that is what the underwriters put it as. A 1800 75 worked out at 20 quid cheaper. So i canny figure that one out at all i am afraid.!
Spiny Norman Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 I noticed Omegas were surprisingly expensive to insure when I checked a couple of years ago. I thought, 'fuck it, I can insure a Merc for that' , so I bought a Merc instead. That said the insurance on the MG ZT I looked at one time put me off them too. Weird world, car insurance....
ayrshirelad Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 We got said Omega a year past January froma friend of mine. Our Jeep had succumed to the tin worm and we needed a winter tow car cheapish. So said car was available tested and good to go. I changed the insurance over form Jeep to Omega. However when renewal came in this year it was HOLY SHiTE, You got to be joking!. However no matter where i went they were all the same. Aviva despite claims to the controary actually wanted over £1000 pounds to insure a 11 year old 2,2 omega auto saloon!! As said above weird world insurance companies live in!
aldo135 Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Thanks Alex, glad it's stayed in the family as well! seacow 1
seacow Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 SOLD SOLD SOLD thanks cms Andy top shiter!Great result for all nice matching pair with the maestro
cms206 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Great result for all nice matching pair with the maestroAfraid not, this has replaced the Maestro - worlds apart in every way which is a bit mad considering they're effectively not that dissimilar. No epic tat collection thread as Alan brought it through and the nearest train station is about half a mile away.
cort16 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 This looked so good for 500 it's a top buy, glad to see it staying in Scotchland. What happened to the Maestro?
cms206 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Moved about two miles down the road to a Maestro apologist with a D-reg VDP Maestro. Dunno if it'll be used or not but as he asked for first refusal when I got it it went there.
dollywobbler Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Odd isn't it CMS? I had a Maestro and hated it. Drove a Montego last year and thought it was really pretty good.
Captain Slow Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Moved about two miles down the road to a Maestro apologist with a D-reg VDP Maestro. Dunno if it'll be used or not but as he asked for first refusal when I got it it went there. D940WWC perchance?
cort16 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 At least the maestros gone to someone who'll appreciate it and didnt blow up or anything. The montego (especially this one) looks much more appealing .
cms206 Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION, BATMAN! For sale again chaps. Tried to avoid using this during the winter so it's now only sitting at 83500ish miles, thermostat is borked but a replacement is included. Passed it's MOT with flying colours after replacing a brake pipe and the back box. Been using it for work this past week and I'm almost certain I'll regret selling it but needs must as space is running tight and I really want to get the Cavalier sorted. Or another Cavalier. Or both. MOT until October I think, tax is up at the end of April. It's not perfect by any means but it's a solid car (for a Montego anyway - no grot in any of the usual places and it's all good underneath). The central locking is dicky, the nearside electric window doesn't work with the lights on and the boot release is jiggered, Looking for £500 but would consider a swap or sensible offers.PM me if interested. Ta! eddyramrod and aldo135 2
aldo135 Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 GLWTS! This is a great car for the money, get involved 'shiters! Better to drive than you'd think, good on fuel, quick for a 1600 too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
eddyramrod Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I know! I had one some years ago, also a J-plate 1.6LX. I'm trying to avoid getting sucked in by this as I fancy having something I haven't tried before, but I know how good these are, and in Flame Red it's really winking at me. Stop it!
