Love watching these if there's not much on, great for old cars, this clip is brilliant!

obv not crappy the latest one then not then!

Watched the new one at the weekend - what a load of new toss!

I actually stopped watching it half way through as it was so bloody boring - have to admit London looks halfway cool in some of the scenes.

Was the chap that plays "George" supposed to be menacing or something - he looked ridiculous trying to play "hard" in my opinion.

....Almost as hard and scary looking as that other twat Danny Dyer/Dwyer or whatever he's called?

Yes, it was reasonably poor. Ray Winstone is getting to be too much of an Ac-Tor and the plot was....well..........

Coincidentally "Harry Brown" was on Crackle (Android App for free movies) last night - and I noticed that "George" stars in that as well - seemed to be playing the same character but the only difference was that he wasn't called George....

Oh and of course Harry Brown was actually a decent movie!

I spent a while screen grabbing every car I could find from the The Sweeney, Professionals and Minder and uploaded them to flickr.

Nope twas deffo a Tagora. A red one yes, but i did make sure. I was surprised myself, but got a good view of the front when the bad guys tried to escape , and one of the bad guys tried to grab the steering wheel from the other. The bootlid had its name on it too. In one shot the boot is up and you can just see a name on it.

Wasn't the Tagora launched after The Professionals ended?

I believe the Tagora was UK launched in May 1981.

All series 1 to 4 were aired in 1980 so it wouldn't be in them

Series 5 was aired in 1982 to early 1983 but was filmed in 1981, so you box set guys have only got 11 episodes to watch :D

I've also just read that the last episode to be filmed was 'Spy Probe' (in May 1981 apparently) but it was shown out of order as the sixth episode of series 5.

So try that one first

The only other one with a May 1981 filming date was 'No Stone'.

Well, it looks as though you've watched all the 1981-filmed Professionals 8)

So, either

a. You nodded off and missed the Tagora

b. I was given the wrong dates for Tagora production and they were available late 1980 when series 4 was filmed

c. It wasn't actually a Tagora after all

d. It wasn't actually The Professionals after all, maybe one of the later remakes or The Sweeney or Dempsey & Makepeace etc. etc.

e. The OP stating it was a Tagora had actually slipped into a Chrysler/Talbot dream sequence and actually believed there was a Tagora there

f. It was in fact the red Solara shown earlier in this thread. Series 5 Episode 2 -Operation Susie.

To save anybody the trauma of watching any more than they have to of these two posturing twats, Thursday's episodes on ITV4 were Series 3, Episode 3: Stopover and Series 3, Episode 4: Dead Reckoning.

16.10 into the new Sweeney Movie and the Warren T BarryNorman verdict is that it's shit. Who's the prick playing Carter?

I like the two posturing twats.

+1

I'd never really watched The Professionals first time around as it wasn't on Mum & Dad's viewing list and I couldn't argue as I was only a teenager then.

Of course we didn't have tellys in our our room then and endless re-runs on a non-terrestial channel was science fiction talk and nonsense.

So it's only in the past few years I've got into some of these gems I missed as a young man.

The overall effect is probably enhanced now by the slightly dated attitudes and the plethora of cars that I mistakenly believed were going to be part of our landscape forever but in fact are now rare pieces seldom seen outside of a show ground/breakers yard.

Oh the joys of getting older

He was most annoying and very unconvincing at playing tough for me.

He was also in Harry Brown under a different name...

I can't believe they gave the part of Regan to Ray Winstone. Regan was never even a Londoner! He was a northerner who'd set his sights on being a Flying Squad officer and achieved it, and had made London his patch. Philip Glenister would have been a better Regan than Winstone! Actually David Morrissey would have been even better, but never mind, the damage is done.

The new George is Ben someone, who in his other life is a so-called musician by the name of Plan B. Yeah... right.

Fire up the fucking Quattro, let's make ALL the mistakes, shall we?

I love an action movie, as I loved the original series growing up. I have no intention of sitting in front of this travesty (having seen clips).

David Morrissey

Even Neil Morrisey would have been better, or even Morrissey out of The Smiths.

If only there was some way of recording the original performances to save the effort of making a new film.

Right ok. It was a red Tagora and what else happened in the epsiode i cant really remember. Basically i see said programme when i am on my early shift which was last week. This in coming week i am mid shift. However it was a red car and the boot lid shot was with the boot open. Usually i go and collect my other half from her work, so i see the last half hour 45minutes of said show. I am sure it would have been either the Wednesday epsiode or Thursdays one. The espisdes i do remeber seeing had the red marina estate and blue van, then the next one or there after had a brown princess as a getaway car which crashed into the bushes. I remember seeing the Tagora or Peaugeot coming towards the camera down a drive way, for the life of me after that i cant remember what happened, which is very annoying. The only other older tv show i watched was Bergerac, i didnt see the sweeney. If it was a peaugot then my apologise, however i will keep looking and see what i can find.
