He’s owned it since 2010 and it’s been perfectly reliable and a generally really good car despite it having a quarter of a million miles on the clock.

The good:

It has MOT and Tax - all be it short.

It is fitted with a Witter tow bar with electrics.

It has plenty of torque and weight so is perfect for A-framing a Moskovitch from Bulgaria to Swaffham.

It’s massive and extremely comfortable.

It has sumptuous velour upholstery.

It has really easy to use cruise control.

It has working factory CD and Cassette player with an excellent sounding set of speakers for your entire cassette collection or S Club 7 CDs.

It drives perfectly, no clonks, undue rattles, asplosions, fires, racist jokes or anything else unwanted or unexpected.

It has four very good, grippy Continental tyres.

It’s cheap.

It’s the sort of ‘accountant racing silver- grey’ that doesn’t show up dirt too badly.

The bad:

The rear washer doesn’t work.

The trip computer doesn’t work.

The nearside rear door has a large dent and crease which has been slightly pushed out but is still visible.

There is a small scrape on the offside rear quarter.

A few small scuffs on the bumpers.

It has a piece of plastic trim missing from one roof bar.

It is quite horrifically boring.

The cam belt is due in 8000 miles.

This is a superb car for not a lot of monies.

But don’t just take my word for it. Watch this informative video of a middle aged Northern bloke showing you around the Volvo, whilst often covering the lens on his phone with his thumb.

So how do you fancy this big old lump of sensible Swedish dependability with aerodynamics better than that of the average cow shed for the low low price of just £450.

Bargains, bargains, much cheapness..... :P

That's a hell of a lot of squidgy old Volvo for the money, some discerning southern shite-ist will be on that in a heartbeat I reckon.

Worth a punt if the fuel consumption does'nt bother you. If it goes Pete Tong I would imagine it would break for decent money then weigh the shell in.

Bargain. The last of the proper Volvo's that will go forever. Unstressed 5 cylinder (140 brake in this spec I suspect) and manual box as well. Happy days.

I love the styling of those. Once the diesels come down a bit more in price I'll probably pick one up to use as a daily - they're still quite a classy vehicle I reckon.

Im running a 05 model D5 SE AWD ( not the black bumpered horror ) and thats a nice comfortable car, though not a sports car by any means. Nice as they are,not a patch on the older 240 and 7/940 models

That's bargainous TO_THE_MAX!

Fatha_L has had his 06 plate one from new. 2.4d auto saloon, feels rock solid, goes like the shits.

Don't see him parting with it ever!

I'm after one of these. But it needs to have 7 seats. And be a T5.

Still here.

A free hot drink of your choice to the lucky buyer! Well cheap tea or a mug of instant coffee anyway.

You can't break as much as you'd hope with those - everything that plugs into an ECU is coded to the car when it's produced. New parts from Volvo are blank but must be coded to the car by a dealer when fitted, after that they're locked so you can't fit it to another car.

But at that kind of money it's a very comfy way to travel

You know that would be perfect for me but i'm at the other end of the country (Edinburgh) with a Vectra to get rid of if i got it. NITEMARE.lol.

You know what If you fancy my Vectra as a px (simply so i can drive down rather than take the train) i will take the drive/adventure and come down.....SERIOUS!! The Vectra's not worth much so i will give you some cash as well. What do you think?

Sorry, no swaps. Only getting rid because we don't have the space for it.

Oddly I will be in Tiverton this weekend with the 740... If anyone wants a lift down gimme a shout.

Unfortunately the Senator is undergoing recomissioning at the moment resulting in a lack of spare roubles or I'd be all over this.

Also, I can't help but notice that the tailgate is not blue, which must surely limit it's sales potential on here.

GLWTS etc.
