Young Mr Laurel posted about this on Flickr a while back, I believe the owner contacted OJC about it.

1984 Colt Tredia Turbo - last one left?! by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

Regrettably not something I've seen in the metal, just been emailed these photos so I can host them for discussion on the OJC forum. Info from the owners as follows:

"I’m looking for a little advice please – I own a 1984 Mitsubishi Colt Tredia Turbo – it has been garaged for the last 16 years – I am the second owner from new and the car has a true mileage of only 48,000 _ we have only just re-registered the car (we didn’t complete any SWORN docs at the point of garaging the Mitsubishi. It has been fitted with a new Cam belt, back box exhaust, new alternator belt, four new radial tyres, oil change and the carb has been stripped, cleaned and re fitted following this work it passed its MOT

( now has 11 months MOT and 5 months tax)

"I have owned the car since 1993 (although it was only driven for two years before being garaged). It has the extra gear shift that turns it from 4 to 8 gear shift. We have looked on the web site ‘howmanyleft .com’- and it looks as though ours is the only one left in the UK – The car is blue with the full body kit – looks really sporty and a real head turner.

"As its so rare – don’t really know what it would be worth – we are thinking of selling the car – there is a little rust at the base of both front doors and rear wheel arch – but nothing that couldn’t be sorted by a classic car fan.

Those have a reducer gear. So you have two ranges of four speeds.

Two gears on the input shaft, marked 'Power' and 'Economy' on a second gear lever (4x4 style).

Also give you two reverse ratios. Ace fun. Rebuilt hundreds of the things. Later version was low 1-4 then high 4 as a '5th' gear.

Blimey. Early Cordia Turbo. Not seen on of those since, well, I saw a Tredia Turbo.... :-D
