Anyone fancy some Honda Ballade shite?

Feast your eyes on this vision of loveliness fellas... A massive collectors item, one of only 58 still taxed!

Ex-OAP, T&T till March (cheap 1.5 tax), under 55000 miles, drives fine, lovely patchwork of Ferrari red paints & Picasso inspired bumper angles.

As an EX Automatic its obviously loaded, with velour trim (including rear armrest), leccy front windows, centralised locking & power steering, so it is a piece of the proverbial to drive.

Also includes front head restraints to prevent acceleration related whiplash injuries.

The optional rubber mats, DIGITAL radio with an audio tape playing machine, dash top mounted LCD clock (an idea later stolen by SMART) AND genune I.A.M. sticker come absolutely free! 8)

Downsides, broken aerial, 1 missing hubcap, broken (but holding in there)drivers mirror & a various dinks all round.. (puncture, on one of its set of matching tyres, has now been repaired)

Behold the understated nobility:

Thats class in a glass man, theres one of these in Derby I see from time to time, an EXi no less. Also see a nice champagne-coloured one round Crewe quite often, well it was nice till some twat gave it a coat of rattle can mat black. i could get enthusiastic about one of these but it would have to be a manual i'm afraid..... AH'M OOT

Arghh, love these (in manual format at least), ace cars.

Location and price?

That is goppingly lovely. Sadly I see its fate either as a oval racer fitted with a manual box or as some kind OMGWTFJDM tragedy case.

For how much is this mismatched red beauty?

But surely the effortless slushmatic with matching ultra-light PAS (quite easy to steer with the tip of your nose) mated with a tax beating 1.5 lump in these cost conscious times makes this completely irresistible Mr B...

For the record I would consider a swap with a Croma...

Outer north London Cavette, not sure on price, I'd imagine offers the region of £2000 would secure it... Possibly..

Sorry, I thought I was in 1992 for a second (I was listening to KLF), 2012 isnt it.. um.. £495 anyone?

A Rover 213 (1.5) with Honda badges! You can put the mk1 CRX front ends on this and have pop up headlights. I wonder if the 1.5 is as nice as the Honda 1.3 which was in the Rover 213?

There's one of these on ebay with the unbelievably unrealistic price tag of £1445.

Yeh, was a bit pissed off to see that myself - it was in lovely nick as well, used to see it parked outside the bowls club in Wistaston.

I did glimpse a Hyundai Scoupe last week at the crossroad lights near the Swimming pool.

The 1.5 is a brilliant engione, especially in these. I bet this is quite lively even though it's an auto.

There's a champagne metallic one living in Montgomery, Powys if anyone's ever driving through.

Had it been a light blue one, could have been a Victor Meldrew fan's dream motor !

I had the pleasure of owning a 1.5 EXi and it was much quicker than a 216 Vitesse. Very well specced as well.

Nothing bad about a Honda automatic at all ! I had the pleasure of driving a Honda Concerto 1.5 auto a few years back, and it was smooth as silk, and a good performing car as well

I`ve only driven it round the block, but it was much less wotless than I was expecting, it is nippy & the box changes nicely.

If I`m honest the steering is too light for me (my 185/60x14 tyred Uno is 20 times heavier) & the suspension, like most Japanese cars, is biased to comfort more than sporting (although I suspect the shocks & springs from a CRX or similar could be swapped in to great effect), but thats my personal view.

It is a perfectly competent, relaxing town car, & for me, the best bit is that its an auto, with PAS & leccy windows in the cheap tax band!

I can't stop looking at the pictures, I love it, and it's more handsome than it's Rover relation.

The 1982 Accord EX which comes to me has speed sensitive power steering;feather light when at low speeds, but tightens up when at driving speeds - perhaps the Ballade does the same ?

Not sure TBH, can't say I noticed when I drove it, it just felt overly light after jumping out my Uno, even compared to a Jag. I`ll try to have another go at some point this week..

Excellent.

My Dad had one F710 BMS, where are you now..? Met blue with the blue fuzzy felt interior. 1.5 auto just like this. My brother borrowed it to visit his then bird on the Isle Of Skye, fell asleep en route and hit a snow pole. I had my first ( and last !! ) lesson from the old boy in it.

100k without fault just a bit of grot in the drivers door bottom when Morrisons gave him £500 as a trade in against his new R-plate Rover 416 he bought when he retired....

I always had a soft spot for the 216 when I was younger, so I've never been a big fan of the Honda nose on these. Nice to see one still kicking about though.

Well, it sold last week, but I got some news about it yesterday... Its been crashed...

Apparently the guy who had it has reversed it into something reasonably hard, & although drivable, it sounds terminal. :?
