1995 Scottish Motor Show. (Includes hot Musso action!)

Well, the earlier shots I stuck up seemed to go down well so spool forwards 10 years and enjoy this selection from 1995.

 

It wasn't a great show from what I can remember, very little in the way of 'exotica' and none of the really interesting concept car stuff like they got at Birmingham or Earl's Court.

Or even years previously at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow where my press pass meant I'd been able to get up close an personal with a Mercedes C111 prototype, a Lancia Stratos and a BMW M1.

 

Still, there were a few decent motors, here's what greeted you as you walked through the main entrance.

 

Mmmm Vauxhall Vectra....

 

More Vectra loveliness on the pretty much deserted Vauxhall stand.

 

On of the more interesting cars there was this old Chevy.

 

Shame they had it tucked away in a corner of the arena where nobody had thought to stick some lights up, but I thought it was worth a close-up.

 

Fiat Coupe.

 

The magic whizzy bits that make it go.

 

Brava arse. The mid 90s was definitely an era of bold Fiat styling, their cars were by far the most photogenic at the show I thought.

 

Pert Kylie-esque Barchetta rump.

 

Posh Bentley stand. No riff-raff if you please.

 

Half a dozen cows and two trees worth of interior.

 

Interesting bit of light projection on the Volvo stand. Well, a damn sight more interesting than a Volvo S40 anyway...

 

And the one you've all been waiting for, the money shot...I give you the SSang-Yong Musso!

Cool photos. Every time I see one of those generation Bentleys, I think the steering wheel looks like a Vauxhall one, on upside-down. 'S maybe just me tho'...

This was the MTV edition, we had one of these coming in for a door to be painted once in this pissy yellow, ended up respraying the whole car as the yellow fades to white after a few years and won't polish back.
