Me and a mate were bored tonight on a dull and soggy night so we decided to challenge ourselves to find as much retro "shite" in one hour!!

I think we did well 8) ......................

That is a MEGA RARE hard top on the 1969 88" Land Rover there. To have no windows in at all is strictly for pre 1960 motors IIRC...............Worth about 300 quid for the roof alone.

Good finds. What's WFO446? Doing my head in as its familiar but I can't think what it is. Standard maybe?

That'd be a Standard Vanguard Vignale! My choice, always wanted one!

Glad I was in the right ball park. Production numbers of this era Standard must have been really low as you just don't see them often, even at shows.

Luvvin that TVR, would far rather have that than any of the myriad fragile toss they knocked out in the 90s. 8)

Yes I think a Standard Vignale. I was getting a bit excited there thinking it may have been a 'Sportsman', which I think has only 1 or maybe 2 examples still roadworthy, Rather unhelpfully, the DVLA do not list 'Standard' on their list. They have everything else, ever.... why is that?

Nice work for 1 hour - I want to live there now!I favour the 309 parked in front of the Landie - double spot in 1 pic! :D

whats the difference between the Vanguard Vignale and the Luxury 6..are they the same car or not..

this is the one i talked the landlord into buying..200 quid..the matt black makes it look quite shoddy but its actually really quite good...mint /new interior..shit loadsa work done..

I find entering the reg into mycarcheck.com is usually a reliable way of obtaining the correct make for entering into DVLA's online enquiry website - except it doesn't recognise the reg WFO446 - perhaps the car's had a different registration assigned to it, but the plates haven't yet physically been changed?

Presumably when DVLA computerised in the 1970s they entered default manufacturers' names according to their ownership at the time... which is why you get "Leyland AEC" for example. Not sure how this would affect Standard which I think must have been defunct by then

Lovely, only a small bit of 'painting the wheel rims red/chrome trim rings, white walled tyres, lowering of suspension' and you have the perfect rat kustom type thing 8)

[thanks fer the sthrn spot by da way..got me thinking!]landlords totally lost interest and i could buy it off him for cost..and do exactly that rat look u suggest!..they only built 10000...i contacted the club in the UK but was duly ignored..wanted to know how many were left..seem to be a few around here in NZ..and more expensive!
