Ok. I've the hots for a derelict early 50's lorry. Madness- but you all know that.

Its a Hotchkiss PL20 -which I understand has a 2.3 litre (-probably) petrol engine. Manufactured around 52-54. Thats the extent of my knowledge- and apart from a few pretty pics, I cant find any further detail ont' web.

So -if you can please- clue me in or give me a few pointers.. I've got to make the requisite offer fairly soon, and I'd kinda like some sort of idea what I'm potentially getting into.

Peeps- I thank you

All i want is info on the running gear....

You'd think it was out there somewhere...

There doesn't seem to be a lot of info out there about these. They are quite a stylish old truck though, in a typically French sort of a way. The engine is a 2.3-litre 62bhp OHV four-pot - it's Hotchkiss' own design, first introduced in 1925 - it doesn't seem to have been used in the Hotchkiss-built Jeeps unfortunately, but the fact that it was made for 30 years should mean there's a few still about despite that. This might give you a bit more info on the engine, albeit in French.

Judging by the title, that book is only for 13 bhp Hotchkiss 4-cyl. engines... I think this might be the one you need, Nigel: http://cgi.ebay.fr/RTA-93-1954-revue-te ... 3a65c19d02

This might be of some use to you (in French again though): http://cgi.ebay.fr/1948-Hotchkiss-PL20- ... 51868af24c

Or this: http://cgi.ebay.fr/1949-Hotchkiss-PL20- ... 562d5bbb76

Also, there's an article about the PL20 in this magazine: http://cgi.ebay.fr/CHARGE-UTILE-36-Les- ... 43b07178ec

HTH :)

Thanks john,I'd seen most of them. Spending around £25 a pop for a brief French summary seems a last resort.

I kinda hoped the cognoscenti on here could point me at a niceo ld free English version...
