Mmmm. . .

Probably need to stop buying old French tat - however, I was drawn to the depths of Lancashire to look at this

and found it difficult not to take advantage of it. It's a 1982 GTS with a very sweet 1647cc engine. It was found in a barn (I saw the photos) and has been given a light restoration. It's been painted all over - not the best, but not the worst. It's really nice and unlike the last Fuego that passed my way, not full of rot - the lack of a full length canvas roof may have helped - plus the fact that the number of holes drilled in the body suggested that it was absolutely plastered with wax when new.

Driving through Wigan in rush hour with a weak accelerator pump diaphram made for an interesting experience, but a new one will go on tomorrow - then it's off to the Tatton show :D

Several electrical bits also show no signs of life, but the windows and central locking all work. The main job is tidying up under the bonnet, which is a mess.

At this point, I suppose I should ask - Anyone fancy an early R9 without Mot which I now need to move to create space for this?!

Oooh, that does look nice, is that the one off C&C?

Indeed it is. It's not perfect by any means but it's a bloody sight better than the Turbo I went to see a few weeks ago - and that was owned by a 87 year old woman who'd had it from new

love the look of the Fuego, well done.

Tell me more about the 9... By the way we must have been separated at birth as my fleet now includes 2 mark 1 espaces, mark 1 R18tl, mark 2 18 gtx, a few 4's, 5gt turbo, and an Avantime...

If you want a chat just PM me and I can send you my details.

Stuart.

Mr Lobster Sir - please make me a stupidly low offer for the blue 9 Avenue and save my sanity

Incidentally, you'd be bloody proud of me - it's a Burnley car!! Kitchen's rear plate still intact!
