Citroen knew a thing or two about colours in the 1970s. Check this lot out! From Prescott Hillclimb this weekend just gone.

now saab did some real 'interesting' colours back then, but 'emerald green' isn't too bad.

My dad had a mk1 Carlton in that custard yellow colour - looked hilarious on a big car!

Your little Renault 5 there looks really nice in that colour;I had a couple of them many years ago I used to drive in a straw field - had a red TL and a beautifull metallic blue Automatic with the deeper front bumper

*Ahem* I thought so, but my daughter, who will be learning to drive in it, did not. It didn't help that the DVLA interpreted Champgane metallic as "beige"

So along with the (fairly minor, 2 wings and a couple of sill repair sections) bodywork repairs, it's being resprayed.....black. Gloss rather than matt, but I shall of course post pictures of myself stood in front of it, looking moody and gangsta.

The beige dashboard, headlining, seats and door cards are being retained though, ditto the povvo spec rubber mats. Really want to get it on the road - it had been laid up for 10 years when I bought it.

The Renault 14 had some ace launch colours:

Our second one was a GTL in this colour, Marron Glacé, with brown crushed velour seats and Serck plates for the win. Rest in peace WTH 882T, you were loved.

Lovely orange Audi 80 from 1975.

The lurid green interiors that often accompanied these cars was a bit hard on the eyes, but I loved the green Opel Monzas.
