gtd2000 Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 I went to have a look at this today - owner is asking for $3,000. Advertised as having a recent paint job (very low grade IMHO) and an engine and transmission rebuild. Needs to have all the trim replaced but is supposedly running fine.
gtd2000 Posted July 7, 2012 Author Posted July 7, 2012 Well, guess what, I went to a car show today! I'll just post a taster or two and let you browse the album at your leisure:http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s52/gtd2000/Californication/?start=all
michiel Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Nice work, some tasty stuff there - but that white Comet you posted earlier is indeed megaübertasty.
eddyramrod Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Right turn Clyde! That's proper patina, that is.
gtd2000 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 So I went down to Pleasanton to the Hot Rod show... Morris here's your American cousin on steroids... Experimental factory Cadillac Wayhey!
gtd2000 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Some Videos from the show: Twin engined V8 Ford!
chaseracer Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Experimental factory Cadillac Did they base it on the MGB...?
Lord Sterling Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 In the words of Monty Python ...."and now for something completely different..." Kin 'ell! How the f**k did I miss this? This is an 825SL, not sure what the 'SL' is about (Standard Luxury?) but an 825 V6 is pretty rare even over here in Blighty, this carries the 2.5L Rhonda lump which was only available for a couple of years before the engine was re-built and re-released as an 827. The engines themselves are visually and physically identical apart from a few components and a larger bore. Great car, its spots like this that make me appreciate my Sterling more. Thanks for getting this! Years ago, I worte to a bloke in America who was selling one identical to this, he sent me a load of pics, but me not knowing enough about computers manage to loose them when my computer was re-installed

gtd2000 Posted October 20, 2012 Author Posted October 20, 2012 1960's Ford Fairlane spottage this week:
Junkman Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 How shite is this? This is the first car in the whole thread I couldn't resist.
Rocket88 Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Those COE trucks always look like they've come off the the set of one of those 1930's "What the world will look like in 50 years time" films
gtd2000 Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Been a while since I posted anything new - went to Livermore on Sunday for a drive and a walk around and spotted this lot:
Lukas Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Don´t the americans shoot you when taking pictures of their cars?
gtd2000 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 Don´t the americans shoot you when taking pictures of their cars? I think the two Desert Eagles, one strapped to each of my thighs, tends to make them look the other way
Ian Nexus Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 We should have a Autoshite gun sub group, I raise my Hi Point C9...

brickwall Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I love those beaten up Dodges. On me bucket list!
gtd2000 Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Well look what turned up in the works car park! My uncle brought one of these back from the USA to Edinburgh in the early part of the 1970's during the "fuel crisis" as an economy car It seemed to be absolutely massive at the time to me but these days it's actually pretty dinky.
Rocket88 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Style wise, one of my favourite American cars, will own a Swinger or a Dart one day.
gtd2000 Posted February 19, 2013 Author Posted February 19, 2013 ? I probably look more like Homer Simpson these days but this is just a 4 unit "simple cycle", gas fired plant: http://marshlanding.genon.com/
gtd2000 Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 Not sure if this is really classed as Shite or not but I'm sure as shit it's expensive: Back on track... have a shitty old Bronco
Junkman Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 Back on track... have a shitty old Bronco They aren't shitty at all. They are nice shite and darn good cars. Or 'trucks', over beyond.

chaseracer Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Here's a bit of nostalgia for those of us of a certain age. Never realised these were sold in the States in station-wagon flavour... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/67-Austi ... 399wt_1165 ...so it's a shame about the nasty metallic blowover and (apparently) non-matching numbers...
eddyramrod Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Good grief! How did that happen? You do find some unexpected stuff, don't you! I found a mk1 Cortina in San Francisco, but this has to trump it I reckon!
