Happy St George's day to you too. I don't give a flying one what country he may or may not have come from, he's 'our' patron saint and that's good enough for me.

Sadly the pubs aren't going to be full of people celebrating in England, no doubt people are saving their money to buy inflatable bloody black and White pints so they can pretend to be from another country instead.

Having never been to Ireland I cant comment on what its really like but I do imagine that it is soley populated by cheery leprachauns sitting in front of an open fire, drinking Guinness and singing happy songs about murdering protestants.

If we were to celebrate 'English' we would not doubt need to drink loads of WKD and deck someone smaller than us for looking at our bird 'a bit funny'.

On the basis I dont like WKD I am going for the first option. I am not catholic so assume I am protestant (I did not pay attention to this shit at school) but am sure there are a lot of protestants I dont like, so am still happy joining in with the songs and being a bit more direct with my sectarian hatred. I dont know if Jim Davidson is catholic or not but I am sure everyone will be able to agree to unify and hate him together for just one night.

Ireland doesn't have much to celebrate these days. It's a fucking embarrasment.

But this isn't a thread about Ireland, although nothing beats roasting a protestant landowner on an open fire while knocking back a few gallons of the black stuff.

Yes sir.

Happy St George's day. Him, St. Andrew and St. David must be pissed off at the publicity St. Patrick gets...

I don't bother with saint's days or national days, or indeed any celebration with religious or nationalistic connotations. Life's complicated enough ;)

+1 on that... I stick to being British rather than English, especially since my family is a bit of a mix/match from around the British Isles.

They're not ENGURLAAANNDD ENGURLAANNNDDD flags but they are at least patriotic and on a Princess and poking fun at the Mini fanatics so... here's a Princess with some silly door mirrors.

Certainly one of my favourite British cars and this one was made in England.

How about British cars not made in England? I can think of two:

Technically, the De Lorean isn't British since Norn Iron isn't part of Britain

But how about these Welsh beauties?

The interior of that Yugo - and many other cars with a similar colour and finish interior - always puts me in mind of Caramac. I'm not sure I could resist the urge to lick a dashboard that looked so much like Caramac and I'm pretty sure I'd regret it very quickly.

Mmmm... Tanker full of Caramac.
