Scimitar GTE anyone? In Kent. £400 with spares

Right my old cockles.

Through friends I got recommended to a widow to sort out a proper collection of old motors.

The deceased had a Mk 2 GT6 which is mint and I mean Woooo! MINT! Got that freed up and running today after being sat 2 years in a dry vented garage. That straight 6 burble still gives me a lazy lob!

But I digress, there is amongst other things a dog shit brown with light yelloooo dralon buttoned interior Scimitar.

Was MOTd til end of Jan and started first kick yesterday on it's own battery.

It's an auto and no obvious funkyness with the gel coat.

The back bumper is a bit shonky but comes with a new one and a new set of tyres.I think it'll MOT ok it's just the getting it to an MOT station as no-one;s insured on it :(

I'll take a proper real indepth nose tomorrow and get some pics if someone's interested.

Like I said it's a bereavment sale, they're not worth a miwwion I know but I want to get the best price for Mrs Widowlady :)

'fraid not, thinking of getting all Princess Ann and towing a hoss box?

Yup-interested; dependant on model/spec.

Had several of these & just love 'em.

From your description Its a 1975-1985 Se6 Series car.

I could also be interested depending on condition, how much work it needs for an mot etc. Where abouts in Kent?

Right my lovelies I has more info.

It's a '76 model.

Very clean interior. Has auxiliary fan as these things get hot by all accounts.

Was MOTd til middle Jan this year, drives fine - I started it fine yesterday and it had been stood for a month.

It does cut out after a while but I think it's fuel related so likely carb/filter.

Offside brake light/lights go 'disco' - gonna be a earth cocking about.

It's a '70s car, can't be anything much. No ECU here!!

As said there is a spare new back bumper but also all new too - two fog lights ( the damage is to one corner as you'll see in the pics), indicator lense, handful of bulb holders, water pump, some poly bushes for something and a pair of exhaust hangers, set of brake pads, pair reversing lenses. (all in the pics) EDIT: None of this is needed for the MOT by the way. There is a offside foglight still in place. The nearside was smashed

It does look sparkly in the pics as it's wet but the paint is faded pooh colour not full on Bourneville.

Going by the fastidiously tidy garage and the standard of work on the GT6 by the deceased I think there can't be much wrong with it and the bits add up to about £150 worth.

Can I just say I'm not making anything on the sale of this vehicle. Thank ye.

As this is far from a rough old project and going on what's on t'Bay it's got to be worth £400 for a quick hassle free sale.

First come first served as the actress said to the bishops.

It's in Rainham, Kent - NOT ESSEX!!!

Now...pics..I is computa numpty so would someone be kind enough to stick some pics up please?

I tell you want, That looks bloody nice for £400, If i had the money I'd be tempted, what size engine are these, 3.0 V6 or 2.8 Granada?

Posted

If it's 1976 I think it should be the 3.0 Essex. Somebody's going to get a bargain there! One of us, hopefully.

Posted

That's a good point, the 2.8 wouldn't be until slightly later, this is a 1977 model though and is a 3.0 V6 according to the DVLA, It must be worth a punt!

Many Thanks CnD.

Yep she's a honey alright, I priced it sensibly so it sold, the lady doesn't want it knocking about forever!

I would have it myself as they sound lovely and I want to be in 1976shire but 7 bikes, a Pug 405 and an A60pick up and a gaff I'm trying to do up to sell are for once taking priority!

Oh and it is the 3 litre with the carb all the scene ford chimps want by all accounts as both venturis open the same time.

Hmmm... is this still about?

If it's still available I'm interested - but wouldn't be able to collect it for a few weeks.

Message for Torsten: Been trying to reply to your PM for three days but they're stuck in my Outbox. My number is **************. Anyone else - how do I fix messages stuck in Outbox and why does it ask me to sign back in every time I switch screen? Aaargh!!

They're not stuck in your outbox, it just means that the recipient hasn't read them yet.

Hmmm there goes my "IT is logic" theory...Better stick to spanners and welding.

Thanks for the tutorlage!
