They get arsey when you try and keep them in a case with several others as well.

I may have just scored an epic win in 1/43 scale, a Sherpa mk1 van no less, complete with roof rack & dents!

I always loved that an Egyptian phone service van is signwritten in English.

The attention to detail in those old Bond flicks is staggering.

I'd say it should have probably been left hand drive too.

Surprisingly these 3 came from Cash Converters in town, flogging em at £9 each or 3 for £20

Better shots of the Triumph Slag and Daimler, plus a couple more shots of the Shirka.

Um....is that cheap for these then?

The Sherpa alone normally fetches £15-20 with the mag

Johnny Lightning stuff is pretty good. Had some years back and they are like upmarket Hot Wheels with rubber tyres and such. In fact, I think they were originally a competitor for HW back in the '60s but are geared more towards the collector market now. I like 'em! :)

Yeah, fair play, just had a look on t'Ebay.

This knock off popped up too. Wtf is Johnny Lightning and his Ford Econoline?!

An Econoline is probably more realistic as an Egyptian phone services van, than a Sherpa.

I do like the 'dents' on the Sherpa as well. They still have quite a few left in stock including a Landy Defender 110. Johnny Lightning brand do shedloads of TV/film tie ins and aren't cheap for what they are. Corgi briefly in the early noughties did some 1/64 scale Bond stuff which I believe were made by JL for them

By coincidence we've just ordered a load of the Bond collection stuff - Mgb, Sherpa, r11 plus a load of others. Not due for a week or two though.

Keep me posted David re the Bond stuff, if you get the Lada NIVA one in, giz a shout, a'm after that one. Not bothered about the Lada police car with the stupid base, looks crap to me

Posted

Just checked the list - Niva isn't on it which is a shame as they were really popular first time around.

BUMHATS!!

I've got a fair few of these Bond models and they're pretty good for the money. My local model shop charges a tenner a piece, without the magazine, so nine quid isn't bad going.

Mind you, a newsagent near here was selling a load of them off for four quid a pop, after someone failed to collect the magazine for a few months, and they were left with a load on their hands. I hoovered them up, and managed to even get a bit knocked off the price for buying them all together. That was someone who didn't know what they were worth though - they go for considerably more than that on eBay these days, especially the DB5s and Esprits.

My favourite has to be the Mercury Cougar from OHMSS - carefully dented, and containing a 1:43 Diana Rigg. What's not to like?

I missed out on the Renault Fuego, saw em on Saturday when I went to town, but was skint at the time. Was annoyed as I liked the look of that.

Some ERF showman shite. Many many hours spent building this from all sorts of bits so I'm really quite proud of it.

Awesome. Sucks ass big time that the mainstream model companies don't do the B, C or E series. I have an LV and an EC but nowt inbetween.

I recently purchased a couple of those James Bond cars. I've got the same Jag, a couple of Range Rovers and the BMW 7-series, I've also got a Black Mercedes W115 somewhere which I purchased years ago but I need to find it, it's in Belgium somewhere.

That Sherpa looks great, I must get myself one.
