Top gear does a bit on china cars which includes some proper shite,

i like how the Germans couldnt win a lawsuite against them for copying one of their cars

I actually watched that one. Fairly disappointing, though some interest with the Chinese stuff. The new MG with 3-speed auto with overdrive. Shite-tastic.

I rather like the Roewe 350 that May drives. 1500cc engine with the 3 speed automatic 'box. Has something of an ' 80s Rover 213 & Honda Civic/Ballade' about it. Should become the MG5 if/when it comes over to the UK. Looks better than the new MG6 imo. :D

What on earth was going on with the rear of the Maestro copy thing? It must have had about a a foot of arch gap

Does anyone know what that truly shite red 3 wheeler was called? Leriant Lobin?

I can't remember it off the top of my head but there's loads of the things, many of which are made to "look" like pug 205s and other western designs. Mad and Bad pieces of kit!

The Maestro looked like it had been assembled by a bunch of migrant labourers who had no idea what they were doing. However that Roewe didn't look too bad as Chinese cars go. To think the Chinese motor industry was only known about for their appaulling crash videos a couple of years ago, the leap they've made so far is pretty impressive.

I thought it was quite a good piece by top gear which actually devled into an are that most people have no idea about. A fair bit of farting around but that's how I like it.

I think he means the China Copy shite program. It wasn't on here, we got some Northern Ireland politics bollocks instead.

It was part of the latest Top Gear programme - programme 2 of this latest series. Still available on i-Player.

The question I ask myself is whether Chinese cars, such as the Roewe, are as poor dynamically compared to western cars as Japanese cars were even as late as the 1980s? Datsun Stanzas with crazy roll oversteer for example. I bet most non-car folk would not be able to tell the difference between a Roewe and a Kia.

I hadn't even realised that Twat Hour had started a new series. Shows how contemptible it's become in my eyes I suppose.

That being said, I did watch the 2nd episode on iPlayer to see the Chinese cars feature. It was OK, I suppose. But not very informative about even the featured cars, never mind the Chinese motor industry as a whole, and the Chinese Stig was a predictable & childish annoyance that soon grew very tiresome.
