Hi All,

The time has come to part company with my much-loved Triumph 2000, and thought I'd pop it on here first.

It's a 4-owner car with 68,000 on the clock. I have no history to support this, but see no reason to doubt it (I'm told the car spent 15 years off the road before I owned it). I've owned the car for over 2 years and it's been a very reliable & enjoyable way to get around, seems to attract a lot of attention and positive comments too. Taxed (free) & MOT until November 2012.

Good Bits

Bodywork & chassis very solid

Paintwork is very good with only 2 small flat spots and a small rust bleb on the NSF arch

Rebuilt brake master cylinder

New clutch slave cylinder

New uprated alternator 1 month ago

Good engine & gearbox

Overdrive cuts in like a rifle bolt

Stainless exhaust

Room for improvement

Front seats are a bit tatty - has seat covers on currently

Some of the woodwork could do with rubbing down & revarnishing

Rear screen seal is beginning to perish

Special price for a fellow 'shiter - £1500

I'm based in Wokingham, Berkshire.

Now sold & deposit taken...kept in the Autoshite family, so expect a heroic tat-collection tale sometime soon (it is a fair old drive South West  ).

The big Triumph made it from Reading to Plymouth without issue, a very good friend of mine drove her down Saturday morning leaving at 6.30 And arriving at 9.30 and in rather awful weather (not bad going that, especially in an old clunker!) he stopped twice to top up the small windscreen washer resovoir as there was loads of salt being thrown up from the roads in the very wet conditions, and subsequently I've spent a lot of time late yesterday and most of today washing and polishing the thing to within an inch of it's life! But it's scrubbed up nicely, not quite in the same league as 'The Doctor' though, but here it is at a secret tat storage facility:

I've already acquired an immaculate set of vinyl seats for the car in the correct shade of tan, and a big service is planned for next weekend including new plugs, leads, dist cat and rotor arm, electronic ignition kit, air filters and a spin on oil filter conversion.

I'm well pleased, as I've wanted to own a big Triumph for a long time, my 13 year old petrol head son loves it! Many thanks to fellow shiter Graham :D

Glad it made it down OK (never in doubt  ) - You've certainly given it one hell of a shine
