Vin
I've recently seen a red one parked up in Hibaldstow, off the A15 and also at a Fiat specialist in Hull. I've got some pics but fook knows where they are in my computer... Last summer, whilst in my Panda 750, I followed G204 PND through Brigg. At the time, I mentioned it on here somewhere, because I recognised it from one of your spotting threads.
ChinaTom
Here is a list of Yugos sold by Baylham and Willows Garage - taken from a handwritten sales book. The last date in the line is the last known tax notification, then the calculated age at death. Not sure how to present spreadsheets here. If you are interested, I'm sure you'll figure it out. 1 12/09/1983 Yugo 45 A97FDX £1,200.00 31/05/1986 Red 31/03/1990 6 yrs 7 mnths2 01/03/1984 Yugo 45 A324HGV £1,950.00 30/08/1986 White 01/06/1993 9 yrs 4 mnths3 01/05/1984 Yugo 45 GL A86JGV £3,500.00 12/04/1984 Red 01/06/1993 9 yrs 2 mnths4 04/06/1984 Yugo 45 B571LBJ £3,144.00 02/08/1984 Red 01/02/1988 3 yrs 8 mnths5 04/06/1984 Yugo 45 B571LBJ £2,000.00 02/08/1984 Red 01/02/1988 3 yrs 8 mnths6 23/08/1984 Yugo 45 B526MBJ £3,149.00 24/08/1984 Yellow 30/11/1996 12 yrs 4 mnths 23/08/1984 Yugo 45 B526MBJ £2,100.00 24/08/1984 Yellow 30/11/1996 12 yrs 4 mnths7 07/09/1984 Yugo 45 B528MBJ £3,149.00 07/09/1984 White 12/12/1993 9 yrs 4 mnths 07/09/1984 Yugo 45 B528MBJ £2,000.00 07/09/1984 White 12/12/1993 9 yrs 4 mnths8 04/10/1984 Yugo 45 B216MRT £3,156.99 04/10/1984 Green 01/12/1991 7 yrs 2 mnths9 22/11/1984 Yugo 45 B224MRT £2,889.00 24/11/1984 Green 01/08/1993 8 yrs 9 mnths 22/11/1984 Yugo 45 B224MRT £2,100.00 24/11/1984 Green 01/08/1993 8 yrs 9 mnths10 14/02/1985 Yugo 45 B526MDX £2,060.00 01/03/1987 Yellow 01/09/1998 13 yrs 7 mnths11 01/08/1985 Yugo 45 C65SRT £3,264.00 01/08/1985 Blue 01/10/1993 8 yrs 3 mnths 01/08/1985 Yugo 45 C65SRT £2,500.00 01/08/1985 Blue 01/10/1993 8 yrs 3 mnths12 01/09/1985 Yugo 45 C927TBJ £3,264.00 05/09/1985 Green 28/02/1997 11 yrs 7 mnths13 01/03/1986 Yugo 45 C448UPV £3,100.69 27/02/1986 White 31/03/1995 9 yrs 2 mnths14 01/08/1986 Yugo 45 D210YPV £2,950.00 15/08/1986 Green 28/04/1995 8 yrs 9 mnths15 01/08/1986 Yugo 45 A D207YPV £3,199.00 01/09/1986 Red 29/07/1999 13 yrs 0 mnths16 15/08/1986 Yugo 45 A D205YPV £3,100.00 28/11/1986 Beige 01/08/1999 12 yrs 12 mnths17 08/01/1987 Yugo 45 A D866AGV £3,100.00 02/04/1987 Blue 21/03/1995 8 yrs 3 mnths18 01/02/1987 Yugo 45 A D865AGV £3,444.00 01/02/1987 Grey 01/03/1999 12 yrs 2 mnths19 01/04/1988 Yugo 45 A E562JBJ £2,761.72 01/04/1988 Green 01/11/1997 9 yrs 8 mnths 1 01/09/1984 Yugo 55 GLS B531MBJ £3,849.00 01/09/1984 White 01/09/1985 1 yrs 0 mnths2 28/03/1985 Yugo 55 GL B960NPV £3,500.00 27/06/1985 Green 01/03/1993 7 yrs 12 mnths3 01/09/1985 Yugo 55 GL C928TBJ £4,014.00 04/09/1985 Green 26/06/1995 9 yrs 10 mnths4 19/06/1986 Yugo 55 GL C66WRT £4,139.00 19/06/1986 Red 10/07/1996 10 yrs 1 mnths5 13/08/1986 Yugo 55 A D204YPV £3,794.00 14/08/1986 Beige 01/08/1992 5 yrs 12 mnths6 01/09/1986 Yugo 55 A GL D208YPV £4,020.00 01/09/1986 Red 15/01/1996 9 yrs 5 mnths7 05/09/1986 Yugo 55 A D209YPV £3,794.00 05/09/1986 Beige 01/07/1999 12 yrs 10 mnths8 18/09/1986 Yugo 55 A D211YPV £3,749.00 18/09/1986 Red 01/03/1996 9 yrs 6 mnths9 01/02/1987 Yugo 55 GLS D862AGV £3,158.37 21/01/1987 White 01/10/1997 10 yrs 9 mnths10 01/05/1987 Yugo 55 A GL D590DBJ £3,560.00 Blue 17/06/1994 7 yrs 2 mnths11 09/06/1987 Yugo 55 GLS D588DBJ £4,637.00 10/06/1987 White 13/08/2001 14 yrs 3 mnths12 16/06/1987 Yugo 55 A D589DBJ £3,673.50 18/06/1987 Beige 16/10/1995 8 yrs 5 mnths13 14/09/1987 Yugo 55 A E154FPV £3,800.00 14/10/1987 Red 01/07/1998 10 yrs 10 mnths14 01/12/1987 Yugo 55 A D861AGV £3,794.00 01/12/1986 Blue 01/03/1997 9 yrs 4 mnths 1 01/09/1983 Yugo 311 A102FDX £1,650.00 18/11/1986 Brown 01/02/1994 10 yrs 6 mnths2 05/11/1984 Yugo 311 van B217MRT £2,792.78 06/11/1984 Blue 01/06/1991 6 yrs 7 mnths 1 05/10/1983 Yugo 511 A252GBJ £1,400.00 11/03/1987 Green 01/09/1994 10 yrs 11 mnths2 03/10/1985 Yugo 511 C936TBJ £3,364.00 17/03/1909 White 01/11/1994 9 yrs 2 mnths3 19/06/1986 Yugo 511 C65WRT £3,299.00 19/06/1986 Blue 03/05/1995 8 yrs 11 mnths4 21/08/1986 Yugo 511 D206YPV £3,594.00 23/08/1986 Red 01/12/1997 11 yrs 4 mnths 1 01/09/1983 Yugo 513 A105FDX £1,995.00 24/11/1984 Blue 01/05/1989 5 yrs 9 mnths2 01/08/1986 Yugo 513 D203YPV £3,794.00 01/08/1986 Red 18/05/1996 9 yrs 10 mnths3 Yugo 513 £3,090.13 20/10/1986 White 4 Yugo 513 A773FGV £1,800.00 08/08/1986 1 11/08/1981 Zastava 1100 TRT17X £1,500.00 23/08/1984 White 01/05/1988 6 yrs 9 mnths 1 10/11/1986 Yugo Van D212YPV £2,990.00 12/11/1986 White 01/01/1993 6 yrs 2 mnths2 10/11/1986 Yugo Van D213YPV £2,990.00 12/11/1986 White 01/05/1992 5 yrs 6 mnths 1 09/04/1986 Yugo van C471WBJ £3,285.00 12/04/1986 White 01/03/1995 8 yrs 11 mnths2 01/08/1986 Yugo van D202YPV £2,986.00 01/08/1986 Red 01/10/1994 8 yrs 3 mnths 48 vehicles

Angrydicky
Charfleets Service Station on Canvey is still standing, now a secondhand car dealer called Charfleets Car Centre. There's loads of spelling mistakes in that pamphlet. 'Raintree CN7 7QF' is I think supposed to read 'Braintree CM7 7QF'.

Spottedlaurel
Great save NC! Good luck, and if it doesn’t work out I’m sure you’ll find a good home for it rather than just weigh it in out of desperation. CT, I wonder if this car is the one that my stepdad’s former wife owned then stitched him up by refusing to keep up the finance payments due to the car being so rubbish? 1 01/09/1984 Yugo 55 GLS B531MBJ £3,849.00 01/09/1984 White 01/09/1985 1 yrs 0 mnths Out of curiosity, does it also list cars that were p/exed against them? Also, does it list any Lonsdales they tried to sell? Regarding old dealerships, I have this scan of one in Aldershot which I couldn’t see listed above: Former Stanhope Garage Yugo dealership, Aldershot by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Then I found this ad for a place near Norwich: Yugo ad UK - Paul Ruffles, Rackheath, Norwich by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Which led me to what I believe is their old garage: Howes Motor Co, New Rackheath, Norwich by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr Which also sold Dacia at some point! From someone else on Flickr, here’s Limes Garage at Lingfield (on the list, think I've driven past it myself many times en-route to Datman’s): Dacia Dealership (closed) Blindley Heath Surrey, 1991 by sludgegulper, on Flickr And finally, John Childs is still going down in Kent. They took my Laurel in as a p/ex against a Perodua in 2008! http://john-childs.co.uk/contact.html Seems like a marvellous place, the Dacia and Yugo signage still shows up on Stretview! http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Brabour ... 17.09,,0,

ChinaTom
SL, that particular Yugo was registered to a Mr D Cuthbert. It does show what came in as exchange - when I get home I'll have a check (may have been a Metro VdP). I only have 2 books and have not yet found a Lonsdale - I recall being told (at a very early age) that only one or two sold and these would pre-date the first book I have. Shame. I live in hope to see one come back as a part-ex, then offloaded to Dawsons or Holbrows in Hadleigh which is where most of their non-BL stuff was shoved. I was actually surprised how long the ones in that list lasted, and at least a few people traded them in for new ones after a few years. Tthe book shows records of cars being returned due to problems, and the only cars appearing were Metros.
Negative Creep
First chance I've had to take a proper look at it. Some electrical faults were solved by changing by changing the relevant fuse, but others such as the horn and interior lights aren't. THe fuse that operates these is fine, with power at both ends so I'm not quite sure what's happened. Haven't managed to get it started either - turns over fine, there's a spark on the points but it wont fire. Another possible major annoyance is the rear light cluster. The tail light isn't working but on inspection water has gotten in and rusted the bulb holder to the blown bulb. So I'm going to need to source a new rear light unit
Ian Mac
Hi NC, the ignition system is totally conventional so the usual checks apply - plugs, points, condensor, leads, fuel etc. Ref the rear lamp our spares guy should be able to supply either a new or secondhand item otherwise they appear on Ebay from time to time. Cavcraft
Waldron Motors, Brook Street, Chester. That takes me back, had forgotten about that place. I'm sure the first car auctions in Chester were in the same spot many, many years ago now. Waldron later truned into a used car place who sold cars at (mostly) daft prices but they offered 'special' finance for those who couldn't normally get it. It was a bit of a con to put it mildly as the weekly payments were low but lasted several lifetimes.Rumour has it 'ask for Tom' meant asking for the same fella who ran the place but he then knew you wanted finance so turned on the smarm even more. Apparantly the owner was a traveller who had garages in Wrexham and Prestatyn and a bloody big static caravan holiday park on the coast somewhere. Spottedlaurel
Baylham Garage last weekend, looking much like one would hope a former Yugo dealer should: Baylham Garage, nr Ipswich (ex-Yugo dealership) by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr I think they still do servicing etc. I passed the former Crossways Garage at Ellingham just this morning too, but no longer easily recognisable as a garage.
