I was at a Vauxhall Show at the weekend (brilliant weekend) but still had a-s in mind so took a few snaps to offer here 8)

This was at the campsite and very tidy :D

View from my tent - very solid and original Astra

The rat look has spilled over to Vauxhall - it was actually pretty cool, in an irony-laden kind of way :D

Someone certainly loves this mint Kadett

Anyway its only a few pics but hope you like :)

I do like, especially the beige Opel biddy-mobile which of course would be 100 times better with (...choose from list containing ill-fitting Halfords wheeltrims, raised-digit black-on-reflective plates with bits broken off, square AA badge on grille etc etc ad infinitum)

WTF is going on with the Disastra estate? That steering wheel is ace!

Had a holiday long weekend just there so I thought I'd have a bash at spotting. Apoogies for the gash photo skills - I need to practice the on-the-move 'pressure-spotting' but hopefully i'll get there in time :)

This Tranny is ex something-or other I'd imagine, it has been parking every day at my local train station since god was a boy and has always looked this shite 8)

Love it 8)

I dont do shopping centres but this was for an interview at a recruitment agency there - I snapped this while waiting in the car park:

Sunnier climes to the distinctly non-shite town of Portpatrick in Dumfries and Galloway - lovely place with some quality pubbage and a class multi-level putting green.

Parked outside the putting green:

My fave Pokka and shite-ish simply for being a bit obscure. This one was in nice nick- extra points for the 'BAZ 928 4' number plate AYEEZ

Ropey harbourside Mondeo:

Posted Image

Do we do these yet? I thought the factory-looking kit, hanging off in places and the obligatory faded paint gave it some kudoz.

205 Style - not seen this Edition for some time:

Seat Terra:

Posted Image

What is it with old-giffer driven motors always being horribly filler-laden?? Fantastic

Shite derilect petrol station:

Posted Image

And my spot of the holiday was parked there the following day. P-'d off that the sun was in my eyes and finger was over the lens but it was a real pressure spot with a few folk around getting a bit suspicious lol:

F-reg 309 SR Automatic - a real self-harm-inducing-mobile if ever there was one. I want it.

Thats all I got for now - sorry again for the poor pic quality lol

That Transit has a belting handbrake!!!!! Wish mine was as good!

Disastra is owned by one of the lads on a Vauxhall forum I frequent. He posted it on Barryboys for a laugh apparantly and they didn't get it  .

Portpatrick used to have a rather good model car museum called Little Wheels - I bought their Spot-On Anglia 105E when they closed down, though that was the nearest I came to any shite-spotting.I think last time I was there that derelict petrol station was still a going enterprise!

My mum and dad being retired now, like to take regular holidays to interesting places, and actually started tat-spotting on my behalf before I started having a bash at it myself after joining here.

Whilst on holiday in Strathpeffer in the Scottish Highlands, they spotted what must be one of the most un-scene Beetles ever*:

Where do you start? Shonky Dremel Cabrio-Job, duff alloys, shite chrome, and its the less desireable 1303 strut model.

And its for sale!

Hats of to my folks for their spottage skills :D

* Or it is the ultimate 'Hoodride' requiring only a put-it-on-its-arse spring kit and a set of Empi's??

Sorry for the lisght hijack but if anyone does feel the love for 309s a lad at work is scrapping his very shortly. Crashed the MOT on welding and a fair bit of other shit, it's a 3 door 1.3 manual. I think he said he'd been offered £150 from a scrappy but that remains to be seen.I hate the fucking things myself due to past bad experiences with them but if anyone is interested pm me asap.

That seems unusual-the 309/205/405's dont seem to rust at all-unless really abused/crashed.

I'm not great at the old point-and-shoot, that coupled with the fact that my cameraphone has a time delay of about seven light years after pressing the button, means I've only got a few spots to offer:

This big blue American car was outside my work - can anyone identify it from this distance?

I passed this Wolseley in Falkirk yesterday, so I pulled over to let it pass in front of the camera. Looked not bad apart from the missing bumper

Not within the subject of A-S, but these 2 beauties woke me up this morning - a great alarm clock!

and a 55 Deltic

Also gives me an opportunity to show that my car park has some cars in it that are getting rare, Sunny and a Nexia! Theres also two Volvo 740 estates not present at the time of photo.

Driven very enthusiastically around Arran

The Arran Sherpa's up to its old tricks again.

Looks like someones been in the engine bay recently.

Didnt think Deltics were still in service! Nice to see one in its original colours!

Posted

I thought they werent in service! Id imagine the fares are that dear due to the fact that those beasts cost a fortune to run and maintain in that sort of condition!

Twin Napiers engines will hit the wallet hard!

Theres usually an SRPS tour going past my flat on a Bank Holiday Weekend.

Found these pics I took at The Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust Open Day in October 2007. I'll be going again this October - great Museum.

Lol yep! Its actually quite a good area for shite, theres a VDP 1100 Auto tooling around that I've been trying to catch. The auto box makes the farty exhaust produce some rather amusing tones :D

Deltics stink........oh yes. 2 stroke triple crankshaft opposed piston 36 (I think) cylinder built in a triangle formation.....3300 hp....mmmmmm spent many a day of my misspent youth on Kings Cross just sniffing the atmosphere under the canopy.

There was a chap not far from where I used to live who had a front cab of a deltic in his garden. Magnificient trains.
