Brilliant stuff!!, I imagine that's what modern day Liverpool still looks like in places!.

sierra.jpg

Early 1300 Base Sierra!, It lasted until 1996 as well!

The late Terry Fields liked his Sierras. Here he is driving his facelift Sapphire.

Over the last year I've gathered some Toxteth riot pics that I'll post up here.

I'm clearing out my hard drive so I'm doing a final pic dump over the next few days before putting this thread to bed after about eight years.

The first phot is of my old taxi office. The FSO was owned by the boss and rented to a driver who had a reputation for going missing. The driver was pulled in for questioning by the police after a local girl was murdered but he was eventually released without charge.

Needless to say that if anyone fancies running any reg numbers through the DVLA I'll be a happy bunny!

Sadly this fine fellow was scrapped in April 2008, just after his 44th birthday.

It's a Reliant Regal MK6 same as mine. Not on the DVLA enquiries website. Mine came from that area as well but I can't find a photo or even a mention of the dealer, Argyle Street Motors if I recall correctly.

I appreciate the heads up tho! :)

I knew from the outset that was not an invalid three wheeler, but wasn't sure what it was at first!

(will say tho, from that BW photo, I can see why you would think its a Model 67 or Model 70 tho! especially the roof looks a lot like one in that photo for some reason)

Birkenhead, I think, bought in 1961 by the original owner. Original reg was LCM66 which, last time I looked was on an IVECO something or other.

Datsun 180B saloon outside the semi-demolished church looks to be TTJ 943V. Had a surprisingly long life, DVLA says taxed to 2000.

The only garages on Argyle Street have been on Argyle Street South. The rest of the road were always shops and cinemas.

Here's the most likely places.

argss1.thumb.PNG.9ffd76473126dd98e693daea0ae4d07a.PNG

Now a tyre depot.

argss2.thumb.PNG.fdde827916685a0baad2d9dc42327fbe.PNG

Before it was pulled down this was a Superdrive (remember them?) fast fit establishment.

Fast forward to 18 minutes to see the former Superdrive. Incidentally this murder is the one that the FSO driving taxi driver was pulled in for that I mentioned earlier.

Thanks. Interesting. I'll find the original owner's son's letter in which he describes the purchase of LCM66 to see if there are any other clues. I think the letter mentions that it was a Reliant dealer. If it was an official Reliant dealer, it would have been listed in one of the handbooks I've got. I'll check them as well. I have owned the car since 1992. Some of the details are becoming a bit sketchy ?. There is an Argyle Street in Liverpool as well.

This is where the Reliant dealer in Liverpool was. On the corner of Oxford Rd and Hawthorne Rd in Bootle.
