Mr C these photos are kicking some old grey cells into life.

I love the way you try to match vehicles and people with the old pics.

Forgot all about the Tescos on allerton rd.

Worked around the corner from The King Street Vaults (GF lived in Saunby st) and used drink in there while she watched Corrie.

I used to go to the cabaret/night club in the top rank. It was called Romeo and Juliets then Baileys I think. It changed its name every few years.

Keep them coming and the adverts please.

The (modern) picture of a building with blue sort of canvas covers over it looks familiar, I'm pretty sure I passed that every day when I was on a Unite course in Liverpool not so long back.

 

No offence (and it could be the black and white pictures) but Liverpool always looked so grim sort of mid 1980's and earlier. Even coming out the tunnel, turning left and going through to Bootle ind. area (Redfern St, to be exact) about 13/14 years back was a right miserable looking dump.

Every city was like that in the day though, before you go calling in favours from Mr Warren and Co!

Granted, some of the stuff they knocked down wasn't pretty. But what they replaced it with isn't nice either.

Also, same story everywhere. First they scrap the trams, then they accuse people for using their cars too much.
