Didn't know it was compulsory in the back 8)

Drove a cab myself from 1998 to 2003ish, never wore a seatbelt round town, funny it took me 5 minutes to get out of the clunk click procedure, about 8 months to get back into it!

Its a gold Rover 2600...In the Sheffield 'New Romantic' group the Human League's vid Don't You Want Me?

Well done! I believe the car still exists in a somewhat shit state.

Being a massive Human League fan, that car is one of my Holy Grails, as is the Saab 99 Turbo driven by band-member Jo Callis in the video, a car which surely has to survive somewhere :)

Ans for a bonus point what's the dash light illuminated on the SAAB? Clue. Think 31/1/83

Seems everyone has overlooked my question :P

Have to say I didn't know that;

Remember my 1977 Volvo 244 having an incredibly annoying flashing light that stayed on till you belted up though,

amazing how Volvo foresaw UK legal amendments 6 years hence,

Makes you think doesn't it Comrade?

I imagine that most Saab and Volvo owners were wearing their seatbelts at that point, just to stop the flashing and clicking

The sad thing is I wormed a lifetime exemption cert of my old GP and I left it when I moved.

Seat Ibiza?

Wrong. He bought it in France due to the French at the time being on strike. I believe he still owns it too. Think quirky....

Posted
Is it the DS he uses in the Cars video?

We have a winner! If you notice, the car still is on French plates

What kind of car is featured in the Macc Lads 'No Sheep Till Buxton' video?

Hillman Hunter. K reg.

If you take the bulb out of the seat belt light on a Volvo the ticking stops.

As you were.

Not on my two; the clicking is provided by their flasher units :P

Well done! A sunburst Red Custom with a vinyl roof IIRC.

Your turn.

A Custom with a vinyl roof? Awesome! I wonder if it still exists? :D

What was Detective Sergeant Harriet Makepeace of "Dempsey and Makepeace" fame's car of choice before she got into Escort Cabriolets?

Posted

Think she was into Leyland Minis, a red one that got crushed, (with her and Dempsey almost still in it) and a later black one.

Posted

Correct, although it was the black one that was crushed; the red one was rolled into a ditch by Special Branch officers in the pilot episode

Posted

Of course, the black one being crushed was in the closing titles every week

Next question, in Randall and Hopkirk deceased, what type of car knocks down and kills Marty Hopkirk?

Posted

Indeed, care to take a stab at the model?
