A recent thread in which my reputation has been attacked, has lead me to start a history thread.

I'm going to post up the list of cars I have owned from the beginning of my driving career (1999)

Be warned - this may take a while and get quite boring!!! I'll post pics where possible.

 

86 VW Polo 1.3GT quick little car changed from 4th to 1st, went bang (Sold)

88 VW Polo 1.0L heap of shite blew head gasket (Sold)

94 Hyundai Pony 1.3LS Valve damage (Young driver) Scrapped

87 Austin Metro 1.0HL used to cut out at 65 mph! (Sold)

92 Hyundai Coupe 1.5GL never worked, spares car (Stripped and scrapped)

86 Volvo 340 1.4 only cost 30quid! (Sold)

94 Citroen AX 1.0. Free car, drove once then gave away!

89 Austin Metro 1.0. horrid beige, gave to my bro

87 Nissan Sunny 1.4 LX. ok car, brake cylinders burst, pants soiled! (Traded for next car)

88 Nissan Bluebird 2.0D. Slow but dependable (Sold)

89 Ford Fiesta 1.0L. sold for 3 times what i paid for it!

84 VW Polo 1.0L. 196,000 miles - Nowt special (Sold)

90 Vauxhall Astra 1.8SXi Estate. Fast but slowly disintegrating! (Scrapped as was rotten)

93 Fiat Panda 1.0 CLX. Cost 20 quid then broke after two days. (Scrapped)

92 VW Passat 1.8 Estate. Another free one, MOT ran out (Scrapped)

92 Rover 416Gti. Swapped it for next one

90 Mercedes 190E. Luxury barge, sold on, wish i hadn't

90 Fiat Panda 900cc. painted matt black (Due to dodgy previous owner) only ran on easy start! (Sold)

91 Ford Sierra 1.8 Auto. Scary in the snow!! (Sold)

95 Skoda Felicia 1.6 Estate. Shite with a capital S (Scrapped but even that was too good for it)

89 Ford Fiesta 1.1L. cost £72, first ebay purchase (Sold)

92 Vauxhall Nova 1.2LS. Still going as far as I know (Sold)

93 Lada Samara 1.5 GL. Another rotten car! (Scrapped)

94 Citroen Xantia 1.9D. horrid car! (Scrapped after several issues)

87 Fiat Panda 1.0. With bull bars! Sold to some students going to mongolia

94 Fiat Tipo 1.4ie S. 230,000 miles and still going!

93 Mazda 323 1.6 fastback. sold after buying next one.

90 Mazda 323 1.6 fastback. Written off by a Focus. (Scrapped)

94 Volvo 440 1.8 SE. Honeymoon transport, (Sold)

89 Austin Maestro 1.3L. Shite but indestuctable (Sold)

90 VW Golf 1.6 Auto. Bad example (Sold)

90 Lada Riva 1300 Estate. Had this a while, learnt a few lessons about over- modifying (Sold)

Daihatsu Sportrack - Sold on

Mazda 929 - Sold on but next owner killed it.

Chevrolet Celebrity - Sold on but third owner on banger raced it.

Perodua Nippa - Sold on.

Nissan Bluebird - sold on

Mercedes 230 - Rotten, but still sold on to a Merc restorer.

VW Polo - was badly treated by previous owner, water pump went then sold it.

Blimey - you have had more cars than I have had in forty years, and only a very few of mine have ever been fit enough to sell on when I was finished with them.

I was really angry when I heard the 929 had been scrapped, any idea what actually happened there?

Your xantia must have been a lemon - mine was the best car I have owned. Admittedly it wanted for nothing, but it took a legendary amount of punishment.

I get two different people with 'Panda' in their name mixed up! Are you the Panda who had a Saab recently and that Australian(?) Ford estate that needed welding?

Easy mistake to make, we are both from the North East too. I escaped to Essex though.

 

Yes, I did have an avenger, which I fell out of love with after the clutch went. It is still around too iirc.

 

Also a Talbot Horizon and another Samara

 

Torsten has my Horizon now, and I'm sure it will go again one day.
