Good shooting sir! Are those Leyland ones at the Truck Museum? When, please?

A brown Maxi, who would have ever thought there'd be somewhere on the internet you could show a picture like that...

That Marina looks like it was once owned by someone who bought the Marshall Cavendish weekly car care series "On The Road" in the late 1970s and early 1980s and acted upon the mine of information which each issue contained, judging by the painted-on side stripes; one issue depicted a hapless Cortina mark 2 getting similar stripage, albeit in red :D

Around 2002/3 I think. Went there with a mate to the main event at the truck museum

I think my dad has some of that mag in a binder. I know he used to, cos I would read them as a nipper. Hope he hasn't wanged em.

I had the whole set until I left home, when I gave them to a charity shop :( However, I picked up a book published in the late 1980s by MC from another charity shop about four years ago, which contains the best bits of OTR, including the aforementioned stripe painting :)

I did a few events at the Truck Museum, but not until 2007/8. It was handy for me, coming from Southport, and always a good day out. Especially when we made a convoy with my mate's Mustang! :D

Ah sod it, one more lot for tonight, starting with a DKW at Bridlingtom last year.

Strictly speaking, two Toledos, which is pretty good going these days. That Maple Brown is a real fresh-turd shade, isn't it! Mine was Sienna, which was bad enough, but a neighbour had a Maple one at the same time. Our road was like a sea of mud.

Nice spots - famous Datsun there (owned by damn-my-memory-is-shite...)!

+1 for the Datsun. I reckon it's easy to forget just how small these were - the tiny Starmags put it in perspective. I really miss some of those early 80's Jap oddities I grew up with.

Typo :P Tiredness & brain numbed searching through upmteen thousand fotos on the hard drive. Sadly most are trucks & buses

Posted

I'm sure that trucks and buses would be welcome here. I have a penchant for old HGVs, myself :)

+1, absolutely, post 'em up!

Do you work for Ipswich Buses Felly?.

Nope, but until recently I did work for the other company in the town. Sadly, health issues have cost me my PCV licence

The 1200 is owned by Mash!

Great effort here, gotta admire you boshing these up as the walls of this place come crashing down around you. 10/10 for effort I'd say. Loving the (other) Datsun. The awful Marina at the start has an odd hatchback conversion and caused much lolz amongst the AS contingent at the recent BL spares day...

Whilst scouting for commercial tat, I came across this gem of a photo, that I took at the Kirkby Stephen Easter bash in 2009. Check out the bloke's attire in this crusty Fiesta. So 1970s!

Both the Fiesta and its driver look like they should be in "Ashes To Ashes" :D

Sorry to hear that Felly, that can suck a bit.

I'm not letting it get me down too much, just struggling to find work. Had a laugh on Saturday though, chewing the fat with 'Old Ford', and drooling over that Felicia, that I remember oh so well. I worked at the supplying dealer, and am 99.9% certain it was me who prepped it.

Cheers, I forget my own name most days - minus 200 on the model though ;-)
