...if your MOT is nearly due? Its in date but they won't tax it because the MOT is due in a couple of weeks.

You can tax up to & including the day it expires. But if your trying for next month -it must be MOT'd on 1st of that month.

As long as your MoT is valid on the day the tax disc is due to start, you can tax your car with it. Some post offices refuse to, but they have no legal right to do so.

No its not true, you can tax your car up until the last day of your MOT. I did taxed the Micra which had about 1 or 2 days worth of MOT left on it, the lady in the Post Office did point it out whilst serving me the Tax disc just make sure I was aware.

You should be able to do it up to the day it expires, as silly as it sounds. Do it online instead. Then there's nobody except the system to argue about it.
