Is this Mr Bo11ox?

I wonder what his chances of a refund are? BO11 LUX all, if we know the DVLA.

Posted

The news report says they will refund him. They also say the plate has been "withdrawn" which leads to an interesting scenario as if its still displayed then technically he is running around with false plates on the car, and in theory it wont show up on ANPR / speed cameras and so on.

Yet he has a log book with that number on. :?

Could be fun, though I expect he is on a hiding to nowhere with the DVLA trying to appeal. If it were me I would be after a refund and a similar plate for all the agro he has to go through (changing insurance, getting new plates made up and so on).

I wonder does the chap with the red C280 Sport still have PEN 1S

Posted

Apparantly so, it used to belong to a former motorcycle racer (Steve Parrish I think) who'd been pulled (arf arf) loads of times.

No such plate. PEN 1S has never been issued.

What Steve Parrish did have was PEN 15. Chris Tarrant owned it for a while too. I saw it about for a few months around Dunstable on the RegTransfers sign-written Smart car. They still have it for sale for a smidgen under £100k.

Proper bargains thread entry.

The DVLA offends me.

Send them a letter saying you're not going to pay any road tax because of this. Follow this up with recorded delivery notes saying you'll wheel clamp their office and have it towed away if they don't comply.

On a more general note it always amazes me that we have such strict regulations on spacing and layout, yet the DVLA will happily make thousands selling plates that only make sense if incorrectly spaced

C13 ASS you say?

I'm sorry but DVLC never did issue it. What a shame. Coming to a high-profile DVLA auction soon, then

On the A11 near Wymondham on Monday night, I was overtaken by this white Porsche:

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for HO11 RNY are:

Surely that should be banned?!

Whilst not a fan of private plates it does beg the question what gives them the right to say he can't have it? There are plenty more offensive images on daily display and people swear all the time in public - are we now to start being arrested or fined for that?

I'm offended by X-Factor but I don't have to watch it. If someone's offended by a number plate don't look at it.

One step closer to 1984.

PU51 DRY?

You need KYJ 311Y.

Any personal plate can be taken back by the DVLA if/when they feel like it, so he hasn't got much of a valid whinge to be honest.

Don't like the rules, don't play the game in the first place.

Blimey.

Money might buy a Range Rover Sport and private plate, but it obvoiusly doesn't by class or taste.

This sums it up.

He's chosen an illegal font that makes the numbers look even less like the letters he's trying to pass them off as than in the legal font!
