Fatha_155 had one of these in the '70s,I thought the fuel filler behind one of the tail-lights was the coolest thing ever .I've still got the lion mascot from the bonnet somewhere,I had it fitted to the front mudguard of my Vespa in the 80's

I doubt it's homebrewed - there were literally hundreds of companies in France offering a variety of stick on tat for all the domestic cars in the '50s and '60s. Those ill advised chrome carbuncles probably make this some uber-rare, highly prized special worth approx 0.002% more than an equivalent standard 403
