some summer shite spots

First up I went "up" Devon to the South Molton Vintage rally, my folks live that way and it seemed like a larf.

There was a local with a p reg?!? Vectra v6, I tried to take a pic of it in all its unwashed shiteness but the chain smoking owner wanted to engage me in conversation. I didn’t have a clue what he was saying and alas never got the pic. you can see it befind the big old vintage car in the next pic. Bonnet was up to show the awesomeness of his filthy Fauxall v6

I was parked next to a Rover 827 that was immaculate. Sorry for shit pic of my nephews in my stag blocking the view. For some reason I didn’t get a nice pic of the car it was awesome though.

This baby is one of 54 left in the UK according to Howmanyofthesefuckersareleft. Bask in the glory of a 626 GLX Exec no less

The Marina, it was there last year and doubt that it has been washed since then. You have just gotta love upgrading to rusty Ital wheels

Also note the chap in blue urinating on the front of the orange rig while owner is polishing away

Next stop Duxford for the Triumph Sports Six open day.

This baby had ram raided the Carlos Fandango accessory booklet, look at all that stuff bolted on, you do have to ask how many mirrors you actually need on a car though. Or aerials

This would have been awesome had in not been for the slightly out of alignment front fog

DUX2.jpg

And slightly bent back bumper

Another uber clean one, love the extended Caravan club wing mirrors, ideal for slapping lycra clad cyclists across their boney arses.

I liked this, based on a spitty I guess from the bulkhead and doors

This was great, very tidy, the man has talent

Now into the tank museum and spotted this mockup

Outside and lurking around the side of the museum was this drab olive, wonder what the reg plate was all about?

Now onto Goodwood FoS and found this in the car park, my kids were nagging me to move on so I only got one blurrey pic of this very tidy one.

The Triumph based kit car is a Vincent Hurricane now being produced (in small numbers) by a company called Caburn. The original was produced in a barn on the Vincent brothers family farm.I remember reading about it but can't remember if it was one of Barrett's magnificent write-ups.

^How small does that look?^

I hadn't even noticed that  wasn't that long ago that it would have been classed as a family estate.

Thanks for the Vincent Hurricane headsup. Owner has done a proper job of that, I like the way he did the grill section. use google images to see many ways how not to do one of these cars

That Acclaim is identical to the one my Grandad bought new and sold to my Dad after 3 years. Silver CD model with chrome bumpers, 4x electric windows and headlamp washers and levelling FTW!

The Standard woodie and Astra estate are bloody awesome!

That's deffo the least offensive Vincent Hurricane I've seen too, most of them look decidedly wobbly. Any of our resident light experts know what the rear lamps are from? They look annoyingly familiar.

I think they're either generic HGV/trailer lamps, or Fiat 850, possibly Coupe. On balance, I'd lean to the HGV option.

I'm not sure, y'know. I think the indicator lens on the generics span the length of the cluster.
