3-litres go like the clappers. 2-litres sound nice but are rather thirsty for the performance you get from them. Both are nice to drive, feel very substantial on the road but still handle reasonably well. They are slightly dull though. Not come across any major issues with any of the ones I've had, and from what I've seen of them on eBay they don't seem to have any major Achilles' heels.

I drove one frequently at work a few years ago. It was a 2.0V6 auto, 1999. They're very much a luxury car, loaded with all the toys, which at 12 years old is really just more stuff to go wrong, isn't it? I know they were sold in the US as Infiniti, with a 3.0V6... and here we are, at the end of my positive contribution. I can say it's quite a nice thing to drive; not the most economical thing, but perfectly acceptable for normal use, at least I think so.

"Work" at the time consisted of supporting adults with learning difficulties; there were 9 in the house, so the Nissan was one of the least suitable cars that could have possibly been donated! Some of the staff had never even driven an automatic before. Mind, for one worker and 3 service users to ride through Blackpool lights, it was brilliant.

QX is one of those cars that seem to be so viceless I've never really heard anything about them, good or bad. I've driven one, quick enough but with a fairly slow-witted Blofeld-matic. Made a very pleasant noise. No particular urge to drive one again, though.

A Maxima, though; grrrrrrrrrmmmm.

I seem to remember they go crusty.

You're right actually. Front crossmembers seem to be a particular weak point.
