Insurance suggestions (pretty please)

Hulloes, bit of a long time lurker here, finally finding 10 minutes to come out of the shadows.

I've been tooling round in a '93 205 dizzler for about 3 years now and it's a fabulous piece of cheap shite for getting me to A-B whilst saving me money for beer tokens and expanding my collection of cameras I never seem to use.

So far it's been pretty cheap to insure too (£300 fully comp, 7+ years no claims, clean license, 28 years old, etc.) Howevers, just got my renewal through and BUGGER A GOOSE - it's gone up £170!

Needless to say, I will be 'jogging on', but I was wondering if any of you autoshitists had any suggestions on classic insurance? Car is over 18 years old now, does less than 5k a year and I'm a named driver on another policy (if that makes a difference?)

In payment of your wisdom, check out the picture of the Talbot (Samba?) convertible I snapped t'other month. AND IT'S BROWN FOR EXTRA POINTS SHIRLEY?

Still be too new for most of them. Get on the blower to smaller brokers and see if they can do anything.

You could try checking with the Peugeot OC to see whether they can help.

Otherwise, try getting a quote from Shitcover. They are thoroughly crap, but they always have the cheapest price for me (and usually only one or two others come within 25% of that price), so I guess I would be dragged, kicking-and-screaming, back to them if I had to get a consumer policy ever again.

Ta for the suggestions. Bizarrely, I've just managed to get a quote less for less than £300 using the annoying fat chap. The rest of the quotes he came up with were 100 squids more. Pretty pleased with that, although still miles away from the likes of "I insure meh Moggy 1000 for £25 a year!11!!" :D

Anyways, living the dream:

Christ, there's a "display model" on the folding table next to it!

I wonder if theres an even tinier one on top of the dashboard of the model one.

Looks to be called a Coaster Tremor.

Both the name and external appearance are themed around the 1990 film Tremors, specifically that bit where Nestor falls off the roof of his caravan and gets pulled through a tractor tyre by the sand worm thing.

The stuff of dream-shite holidays for sure.

And thanks for the Tremors mention. Superb film. I think that's why I want a shite old American pick-up. And a sexy geologist.

 What is that apart from amazing?! Was the original template made from a card board box and some stickly back tape?.

To me it looks like the sort of vehicle you can use to fight off rioters on a Tuesday and take down to the seaside with wife and 2.3 kids on the weekend.
