scimitar body for sale

bought it this morning, very nice fresh paint on the body - but i have no use for it, and its far good to chop up

 

its an 1972 se5a with glass sunroof, a few chips on the new paint, no cracks or crazing Only one small front wheel arch chip will be visible when bumpers/trim are fitted - see last photo

 

inside the headlining is good, carpets have been replaced. all glass included, and doors/locks etc

 

heres some pics;

 

it smells of horses in the back - perhaps someone famous used to own it

i agree - if it was an se5 body, rather than the later se5a i would have used it on mine until my body had been restored

Before I left UK I was working with a bloke who was restoring a Skimmer. He'd flung the Essex and autobox (to be fair, I think the V6 had had its chips) and replaced it with, wait for it... a 1.8 and five-speed out of a Sierra. Dear me...

I bet the steering was lighter! I can definitely see why so many people chuck Rover V8s in them. More power, less weight.

Rover V8 I could understand, but a little four-pot... I shed a silent tear for that car's self-respect when he wasn't looking.

chassis is past its best, engine is dead (big ends knocking) but the body is freshly painted and as most scimitars have terrible paint owners often swap bodies (reg. number/vin goes with the chassis, rather than the body)

Has it got the early sump, timing cover and pickup pipe? I'd be interested in those If you've got them to spare

 

I need all the bits to put the sump back to standard on my 72 car which currenly has a later engine fitted.
