2-litre 131s are definitely worth having - even if the shell's completely shagged someone will buy the engine to lob in a Minor (unless the engine's shagged too). As FD says, values are definitely on the up - they're much rarer than a Mk2 Escort and much better to drive (IMHO anyway). I'd give one driveway space.

Meh. I like 131 2.0s and have had a couple of 'em. One was a silver A reg four door, the other was a T plate supermirafiori sport.

Mk2s blow 'em away, but yeah, I'd probably have another 131.

Try asking Liz Taylor... :wink::P

There's a big market for these now i think, Especially for ones which aren't basketcases, I would love to see some photos!

Desirable? Absobloodylutely! Autoshite gold!

Value? About two pints of shandy.

Had a 1.6 twink back in the 80s and I'd do it again tomorrow.

I had a 2.0 Mirafiori, white with blue crushed velour interior. Got it for next to nothing, and my mate tuned it. The guy I sold it to crashed it, put the engine in a Lada estate, and crashed that too! It was a nice thing, the Fiat. I had a Strada too.

Just casting my mind back many, many years - the Fiat would eat a 2 litre Capri, and handled quite well. The one I had was definitely pushing more power than standard, having received a tune-up from legendary race-bike tuner Scott Bell. He also told me that the diff wasn't standard, but in what way I can't recall. Scott's own car at the time was a Mark 1 Escort, with a Rover V8.

The car never gave me a lot of trouble, with a notable exception being the indicators, which sometimes flashed both sides. It aslo had a fancy steering wheel, Nardi I think. Not sure if was standard.

Last one I had was a silver 2.0 with the dark blue dralon interior. '84 A reg, it had been a demo for my local Fiat dealer. I paid £250 for it in early '90

Electric windows used to play up regularly, alternator fell off once, but it was almost as quick as a Golf GTi 16v in a straight line - provided it was ragged absolutely mercilessly.
