That van is GR9! A truly classy piece of engineering, your neighbours must be in awe of your sense of style.

What a bloody bargain as well! Hats off to you sir!

The view from Pog's dashboard, yesterday...

... our seriously shagged P-reg example has PAS and is apparantly Pug powered - I thought Ford, same 'box as the Transit 2.5Di I used to drive but apparantly not - and I can wholehearted confirm that it will do about 90. It does 68 in fourth, haven't found a long enough private test track to get V=MAX yet.

Oh yeah, ours has Sercks. Hah!

Sherpa update:

Father-in-law came round to inspect it in case he wanted to swap for his terminally ill transit.

Decided against once he saw how big it was.

Sherpa now resolutely refusing to start. Think it need some fuel in it...

Bloody good buy for that money and the back looks huge. Is it a single or twin rear wheeler? IIrc the latter were 3.5 tonnes MAX but others were something obscure like 2.6 tonnes.

Anyhow it looks half decent and even when the steering wheel goes round 827 times before anything happens it'd surely weigh in for the purchase price or more.

Breach of autoshite etiquette! ALL SHERPAZ THREDZ MUST HAVE P0RN CONTENT WARNING!

Kawality van mate....PAS has no place in a SHERPAZ DEES MANZ VANZ!

Stealth camper conversion.....cancel the family holiday to fund it!

We used to run these at work, I think they were about a T plate and ran on the Transit engines, they used to get a really hard time being ragged 24/7 up and down the quay using only 3 gears, Apart from the shagged floors they done well, Better the Smiley faced Transit we had at the same time, And they were quick as well.

Sadly I don't think I can keep this lovely old mongrel..

With my ultimate driving machine stil doing a great impression of the ultimate broken down machine, I ned somthing for getting to work. As lovely as the sherpa is, I currently have a 60 mile a day round trip to st albans... Not only is tjis van too thirsty for that, i'd never get it parked when I get there (st albas HAT thr motor car, and make parking as difficult/expensive as possible)...

So if any shiters wanna swap for something remotely more sensible and frugal (30 mpg min on mixed motorway and bac roads) I am intetested! Long term I think anothet sherpa must be found, but would have to be a small one for the reasons mentioned above.

thats a shame - but at least the neighbours will dig up the leylandii trees they planted along your fence on Sunday out of revenge!

next time you should try and find an old autosleeper conversion like my one - they seem to run from about 1000 to 3000 quid for a minter and camper van action means that you can enjoy the unique experience of Sherpa ownership with the approval of the doris due to the camper.....thats how I swung it - you also get to glower across the campsite at the beatnick Scene brigade as you tap out your pipe on the bumper and rustle The Times whilst the doris busies herself in the van laying out doillies and pumping the cushions whilst the Home Service updates the latest from Lords....the sense of security that you are living a true BRITISH Icon and not some johnny jerry built Volks waggon designed by the half arsed lacky of a gangster regieme responsible for irresponsibly starting the most destrutive war in history let alone murdering nigh on 8 million and putting the whole of Europe in a vunerable position by handing over a solid powerbase to the lunatic Stalin and his evil. I don't understand why the brown rice munching soap dodging hippy brigade insist on driving vehicles that are essentially as Nazi in design as the air tight shower room!

I think you could park in the leisure centre car park at the bottom of Holywell Hill - I'm pretty sure it doesn't have a height restriction as theatre lorries have to get in there - parkings not too expensive there and you'll keep fit walking up that hill. When I worked in St Albans I commuted from Harpenden and worked at Premier Foods which is at that roundabout - parking in Sainsburys was always an option - yes you weren't meant to but in my 4 years I never got done and I used to park all sorts of shite there - mind you Sherpas is gutsy - I think Mr Bollocks has an oil burning Xsara he may sell at the moment.

I will look into that.

Normally I park in the residential areas around avenue road and walk down the hill to victoria rd, as it means not going through the town. I come off the a1 at hatfield north and whizz round coopers green lane and sandpit lane to st albans.

currently contemplating a 205 git, as I know that would be good for the job in hand and I can get the insurance dirt cheap on a cla**ic policy...
