He owned a total of 111 cars at once and has bought, used and sold many more.

that's £20k in scrap there!

No offence intended, just pointing out the worst case scenario on that number of veicles.

I've only ever managed to get to about 30 simultaneously!

I only have thirteen vehicles at the moment

I did once get into the Sun in 1993 with some of the bubble cars nut was in the Mail and Express only two weeks ago (plus The Lady too) with one of my books.

I've had 6 cars, 4 of which I still own. A mate of mine and fellow Rover 800 enthusiast has probably had more than that. He owned a total of 111 cars at once and has bought, used and sold many more.

Good old Brad! Does he still have dozens of 800s?

I think he has got 20 or 30 left, he sold a huge amount off some time back.

This non story also made the local tv "news"

I think the point was that this berk had bought 400 NEW cars!

There was a pointless interview and during which he stated that Hillman Imps were undriveable with passengers in the back (?!) and it turned out that he owned a business of some sort and these were all expences anyway.

I might give the Soaraway Star a call. Imagine tommorows headline "Man drinks 1200 cups of tea in just 1 year!!!"

Jesus tonight. I've owned 9 cars in total.

I have only had three!

Yeah, but how long have you been going? I owned a car before I passed in 2001. I had the 10 back in 2000, and I've owned 9 since then, of which 4 are currently in my possession. One is a keeper, the fate of the others is undecided. Can anyone guess which car is staying?

I passed the 'test on my third attempt some time in 1988. If I like a car I don't feel the need to change it; maybe I am insufficiently ambitious. I have had my XJ40 for a long time and it has everything I would ever want in a car. It is a shame it doesn't go.

I've had nine cars (I think) 4x A35's, Cambridge, 2CV, Maestro, Fiesta, Landcrab since passing my test in 2008.

Also if you want some truly dull stats, courtesy of my spreadsheets then my average car has had:

A 1.98 litre engine

3.5 doors

Built in 1989

It'd hurt my brain to try and get close to the numbers owned but I reckon I must have passed 300 a couple of years back.

How I envy you all - I've only had a measily 9 in 11 years. Problem is I can only really keep 1 at a time where I live and if I kept it else where it would just get left sitting there doing nothing. Need a new house with big driveway/garage first then I can build up the collection, the flaw there being that I'd then have no money left to spend on cars. Those of you who have 10+ cars at a time, where do you keep them all??

Ive slacked off in recent years (but i was always poor by forum standards) i passed my test in 99, bought my first car in 2000, and by the end of 2006 have owned 12, not bought another since then as my old beemer has been very reliable, however a change is looming, but it wont be shite unfortunately, it'l be bmw diesel, 3.0 straight six variety of course. E39 or e46, answers on a postcard please....
