how much is this car likely to be worth, it has about 10 months mot and 4 months tax with about 80,000 on the clock.

the young girl that owns it is looking to sell or swap for a smaller car (micra or the like)

so any ideas wot its worth.

Mardis Gras means about 1995 iirc?

If it's a five door with power steering (ideally with a Bosch pump) and it's tidy it's possibly worth up to about £650. They're not that popular with people who don't 'get' old cars, but they don't know what they're missing as 205s are GR8 cars.

Most likely though it'll sit at about £300-£400.

Even better, tell her to hang on to it. It's worth the square root of fuck all (as has been said), does 55mpg and costs bugger all to fix on the rare occasions it needs a fettle.

Or sell it for buttons and sink 5 grand into a Micra which might just return the same economy...........

she would keep it but the insurance is really high so she wants a smaller engined car.

I very very want this!

I either want a very small yet fun car, or an enormous barge atm.

Defo miss me old 205 tho - great fun machines!

Wouldn't a Mardi Arse be a non-turbo dizzle? No reason to turn it down - they're still great.

No, the TD was available in various trim levels late on.

A bloke I worked with had a newish diesel Micra and it did 72mpg driving like he was a teenage boy, or 80mpg driving gently.

But I'd still prefer a £500 205 and £4500 in my pocket

Any photos available?

A bloke you worked with was either a fantasist or failed O-level maths.

I like how people guess MPG figures, probably based on "it went x miles on a tenner", and come up with ridiculous stuff.

He designs electronics stuff, so obviously zero social skills but otherwise sensible.

Now I come to think of it, he was giving these figures off the trip computer. Do you think there's an outside chance it's not 100% accurate? :D

its the slightly darker blue colour as the one in the brochure above but with a blue interior. so if anyone has a small car that is of roughly the same value that wants to trade it could be a goer.

will try and get some photos in the next few days

Aled, I think he meant photos of the girl not the car, I'm sure he knows what a 205 looks like.

The very *thought*.....

Nah just wondered what sort of fettle it (the CAR) was in really...

Defo defo winds of car change blowing for me atm, but just window shopping for now I suppose. Mazda is once again fully MOT-ed and taxed... 8)

How come the constant speed fuel consumption figures are so much worse for the TD than the D? They're basically the same engine, and I wouldn't have thought the turbo would enter the equation at a constant 56mph. :?

Dunno, but the BX is much more economical than my Pug 306 with the same but blown motor. Never saw the nice side of 50mpg with the Pug. Maybe they built in some crapness to make sure that tight wads still went for the basic dizzles.
