andrew e Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Snapped (poorly in bad light...) at Temple farm in Essex, this part of a _ _ _ _ _? I reckon its the front off a mark 1 Escort but I'm not sure; I'm even more not sure a) what the hell it was doing there and b)how the hell it got there? Is there an Autoshite Timeteam? http://www.ourdogs.co.uk/News/2009/Apr2 ... stone1.htmTraditional Autoshite O-bit post
andrew e Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 For "Dag" lovers (and unliscened cabbies) there were these beasties: Top left above the Transit high top, yes it was an A8
andrew e Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Next up: A sight so shocking my smart phone downloaded an "app" to virtually neck 16 bottles of Babycham and a Lambrini chaser before it would snap the shocking sight of this dirty old Dolly coverting an innocent white Matra Murena (the poor mans McClaren F1). Whatever was under the tarp was sat on wires. And pure corrosion.
andrew e Posted January 10, 2011 Author Posted January 10, 2011 Finally I was just about to shake a spit covered hand on this little beaut, when no less than Guy Richie* did a handbrake turn in front of me (might have been the river of 20/50, antifreeze and the part worn Stomils he was running) in his SSSSSyinyanyong Musso limo - with Daewoo badges to make it appear newer - and stopped my deal. The combination of his loveable charm and the vegoil Merc dizzler thundered over my own limp timid voice and bought kyrton's dream car. Apparently it will be the "HERO" car in Noir with hazlenutz version of Eldorado featuring Leonardo D Caprio and John Nettles. Obviously there going to fit a '09 Prius drivetrain as the film is set in 2037. Don't stick those titbits on IMDB mind as I said I would keep schtum like.
eddyramrod Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Guybo never said a word about that when we were working on Sherlock Holmes back in 08...
Alexg Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Triumph herald perhaps? Agreed - my first thought too
eddyramrod Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Herald? I don't think so, looks much more Mk1 Escort to me. Only other contender I can think of is Fiat 126, or possibly 850, but I keep coming back to Ford despite those over-riders.
Shep Shepherd Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I think the panel is from a mark 1 Escort, as the cooling slots are in the right position and and over-riders on the bumper look very similar to those fitted to the more upmarket models, such as this 1300E:
babydriver Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 Herald does not have a bumper as such, just a rubber type strip or on the Vitesse alloy, Does look a bit like a Standard front end but to me those over riders look Hillman to me. does it have black inserts or does my beer goggles decieve me
Angrydicky Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 I think the panel is from a mark 1 Escort, as the over-riders on the bumper look very similar to those fitted to the 1300E Probably still worth about a grand then.
michael1703 Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 that dolly has got the same ammount of green shit growing on it as my daily driver, parking under a tree can make things look much worse than they are

barrett Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Amazing Murena spottage. Is that a first for this site? I'd love to know what the CPTC is... big Healey perhaps?
