Same in Austria. I mean the Cortina and Taunus at the same time thing.

And yes, Cortinas were usually pov, Tauni posh. Thinking of it now, I can't remember seeing many Tauni without a V6.

Cortinas were cheap there by default, since the 30% import tax didn't apply due to EFTA. Selling them pov spec too

made them a very attractive offer indeed. I guess this alone prevented Austria to be overrun with Jap imports.

Interesting is also that prior to the Consul/Granada launch, TCs were built alongside P7s for almost two years.

So there were two completely different cars called Taunus built at the same time.

Yep 2.6 wasn't avl in the TC taunus range, seen that pic before presume it's Netherlands or similar as there are mk3 cortinas as well as taunus TC1's in the mix.

The photo is from the 1971 Jaques Tati film "Trafic"

^ Being an 80's Jap, it'll likely fire up and still get to the shops and back.

Here it is in better days (in the same location - at the Montagu Motor Museum, Beaulieu).

During redevelopment in 1971/2 some of the old buildings were left as temporary storage, the Daimler languished outside but has since been restored.
