Don't wanna jinx it for Axrescuer again, but the Tagora has been parked in the same spot every day since first sighting, bar the day you went to find it! Including today and yesterday. So that means if you go see tomorrow it won't be there due to sods law! :?

Any chance of contacting the owner, if only to get him on here?

SHIT THE BED. I can't bloody believe it.

Thought I was seeing things this morning.

With only a rubbish iPhone camera, no zoom or anything, but .....

It's ANOTHER TALBOT TAGORA IN STEVENAGE

Posted Image

Parked round the back of the same Stevenage Mercedes dealer as the concours white one from a few months ago. High security fencing means this is as close as i could get.

What's going on??

Posted

i used to pass these three parked next to each other just outside cognac...

WOW-isn't that the equivalent of a Razzle Pile-Up Mr VP?

Posted

razzle tastic  that red one does look mint though..

Coolage. I'll keep an eye out for them - hopefully one (or more) may appear at shutts at the weekend.

Thats a tagora 2.6 sx in peony red - if its a minter its probably the car that was on display at the old patrick collection in the midlands. It recently came up for sale on the classic cars for sale website pictured underneath a talbot dust sheet - it would be great if the owner could be contacted - i wonder what his association with tagoras was or is ?

We really need the owner on here, just for a quick insight on what these beasts are like to run.

I don't believe this. The owner of these cars is pulling mint looking Talbot Tagoras out of his arse over in the Merc dealership car park. There's a third one in there right now. A grey one. I can only see the front of it, it's wedged in between a hut and another car. Hope it's there tomo when I bring my camera in to zoom in on it, have only taken iPhone picture evidence just now. Plus, a lovely looking white Allegro a few cars down from it.:shock::shock::shock::shock::shock::shock:

Right, back to this topic at last. Still only shitty no-zoom iPhone pics thus far.

Since mentioning it, the tyres have fully deflated. Yesterday the maroon one was in there too, wish I could have bagged them both in the same shot. Will eventually endeavour to contact the owner, and get decent photos. Am always in a massive rush to catch a train when i hurry past the place.

Oh is that a white Allegro on the left in the top pic too?
Posted

It looks like an allegro yes :)How on earth is this man or woman managing to find so many tagoras?Clearly not on ebay, or any related sites, as im sure one of us would have spotted itMaybe theres an underground tagora auction we have yet to hear of.....

Posted

most i have ever seen (on public roads) was three in one spot (as i posted before) before that it had been a bedroom wall wonder as id never seen one

A Vanden Plas 1500 no less. The white and maroon Tagoras are minters. The grey one showed up and got stuck away in the far corner of the yard quite a whilw ago and it's tyres deflated quickly. I'd say the owner got hold of this one recently somehow with a view to recommision as it's not roadworthy, but just guessing.

Are the cars left or right hand drive, as we pick up little UK tagora sales but there seem to be a comparativley large number kicking around in france!m0rris

Shit the bed, I'd forgotten how ugly those buggers were.

Also (in '82):

Tagora 2.2 GLS £9072

BMW 520i £9995

Rover 2300S £8290

Grandad 2.3GL £9615

Were they serious? Ugly as sin, ropey quality AND a rough old four pot. No wonder they only sold 12 of them.

Well I know the millionth transit was a Mk1, came off the production line in 1976, the two millionth came in 1985. Of those how many finished their days on the oval, no idea, I try very hard not to look!

This is all too much for me... I haven't seen a Tagora for YEARS (literally) and I have a crush on that Allegroid VDP  IIRC Weren't the Tagoras based on the Pug 604 utilising oily bits from said big Pug? If anyone here has had (or remembers) them, that should give you an idea on running costs... not cheap I imagine :? A billion shite-points to EL for such a top find 8)8)8)

leboncoin will turn up at least 10 at any given time en France. Some even in decent condition. I'm half suspecting Mr. Bollox' absence is due to him loading up a transporter with 604/Tagora/R30's... Live in hope for that mega-post.

Here is the white one up close:

Hopefully this elusive Tagora Hoarda will also be at Knebworth classics this weekend too.... 8)
