Been seeing a few records marked :-

"This vehicle can be licensed at a DVLA Local Office without the V5C Registration Certificate"

Anyone know WHY?

Came across an interesting one the other day :-

"Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) Marker VIC required

A Vehicle Identity Check (VIC) marker has been set against this vehicle record.

For more information on the VIC marker please visit Vehicle Identity Check"

Apparently it means the car has been written off and would need a test before it gets a logbook.

the VIC thing happened with one of mine. Meant i would have had to do a VIC had i sold it on. Never became an issue as the engine grenaded on it.

The last VIC I had, I drove the car in, waited 15 minutes, and got my form returned. Nothing huge if you have everything declared (engine, etc).

If it is declared a cat c then it has to be VIC checked. A Cat C is repairable but beyond economic repair for the insurance company.

It is not a condition check, just a check to make sure the correct vehicle has been repaired. :D
