(I'm only assuming scrap yards don't notify DVLA until cars are actually crushed). Someone on here must know what actually happens. Shame as there must have been a few savable bits on it. Not sure if he counts as a celeb but an old girl friend's family used to live next door to Syd Bidwell the Southall MP who got the Sikh exemption to the motor bike crash helmet law. From a rapidly fading memory Syd had a red Wolseley Six around the late seventies and early eighties. Someone told him that it took 150amps to start the car so he would sit and rev it 'hard' a number times using the ampmeter to measure the correct amount replacement amps were returned to the battery before he set off to help run the country.
