Putting T plated Mercedes - and the Calibra on Ebay for him later in the week. M plated Mercedes I believe is a scrapper to be weighed in.

The hearse and limos look to have been there a long time!

A retired funeral director perhaps?

I'm beginning a bit of a liking for old lorrys.. I was at Newark Showground this week while they were setting up for the Vintage Tractor weekend and saw quite a lot of old wagons with tractors on the back.

Good spots.

The orange Ford Wagon... has it been there long?

There was an identical P reg one around the Hartlebury/Kidderminster area a few years ago. I loved that it still appeared to be working. The one I saw was always clean, but not in a show piece kind of way, just in a cared for old workhorse way.

Are those Princesses almost under Spaghetti Junction? I worked in Erdington about 8-10 years ago and the front garden looks familiar. At least one (the hearse?) was on the road, but if they are the same ones it's remarkable how they've deteriorated over just a few years :(

I don't think they were from an undertaker, but Startin's were just down the road, and I'm sure a local firm had a Rover 800 based hearse built by them, perhaps Lord S might know more about that one.

These are indeed the ones next to the Spaghetti Junction, passed there a few days ago and they are still there (I too worked in Erdington last year) I remember seeing quite a few years ago whilst passing on the bus. Always meant to snap a pic but never got around to it, always get caught up in the Spaghetti Junction.

Startins Coachbuilders did indeed build the Rover 800 hearse and 4-door stretch Limo based on the Rover 827Si (Low spec 827)

That Mk2 Granny a 2.8i by any chance? TRXs on it, not many carb ones with those on. Only tends to be the people who know their Mk2s keep the TRX rims, and anyone who knows 'em will go for the injection model.

The Almond green 1965 Mini and the Morris 1100 are stunnas.

I expect the Mini will make a lot of dollar, hope it gets saved. Bet the poor 1100 doesn't though.

Ho, love that Camry!

There's probably 2 or 3 people over here who would pay big money for those Euro/JDM lamps and grille for their own Camry...

Mini sold for strong money to a restoration company near cornwall - its in good hands :) The 1100 is better than it looks and will be done up or sold off depending on time :?

In 1974, my folks bought a 1962/3 Austin Mini in Smoke grey (the colour of that 1100). It was solid but with a rusty A panel and the top drivers hinge pulled out and an almost new Peco exhaust which went on my Mum's 1275GT. They paid 20 pounds, the going rate for one of the hordes of tired old Mark 1 Minis. It was relieved of useful bits after 2-3 months of me playing in it and towed to the scrapyard about the same time as that green one's tax expired.

What a marvellous place Roly Smiths scrapyard was then - loads of 1100's, Mark 2 Jaguars, early Cortinas (three in a row) and the kind of old shit that is now seriously sought after (ish). Mainly Ford/BMC stuff.

Odd to think about it in those terms - 1974 was a long time ago when you're 40 odd.

I saved a 1966 Morris 1100 a few yars back. I love 'em.
