Things They Should Have Made...

I like the design of the Rover 75, it certainly looked a lot more modern when de-chromed and beefed up in ZT form.

It just needed to be a bit bigger.

The Rover 75 was hardly a sales failure. The prototype Coupe would have been fantastic....

Basically a sierra cosworth for those whose knuckles do not drag along the ground.

Oi!

Cheeky Pog! I'll have you know my "Cozza" has delightfully frilly arches in true AS style.

Untill I scrape the cash together for a bodyshop visit.

"Coz-eh". A mate told me years ago he'd got a "Coz-eh", and was bringing it round to my place. It was an 1.8 LX Saff. He thought all saloons were a "Coz-eh"

I have the best of both worlds, Sierra Sapphire (according to the bootlid) 1.8L, and a Scorpio Ultima Cosworth, I was thinking of combining the two.

Scorpio 1.8 CVH manual anyone?

I know some half arsed attempts have been made, but I think a factory sanctioned Fiat Panda pick-up would have been a lovely little thing :)

Vin, I'm sure I've seen one of those here, give me a week or two to find it again. It could be one of the many models that simply didn't make it to UK shores...

The Chevette/Kadett was available with the Opel badges as a rather sleek little coupe. I wonder why we never got that with the Chevette front? And maybe Manta 2.0 power... No, I know why; it would have poached the Manta. Of course there's nothing to stop a privateer building one, is there?

Posted

I dont, I dont like the Kadett front at all, but I really like the shape of the coupe. It'd be like a mini Cavalier sportshatch. I reckon it's a great idea. Does somone have he photoshop skillz to do a mock-up?

Luton, early 60s. Vauxhall has been part of General Motors for some time, and there has been some cross-pollination. Witness the 3/4 scale 1957 Oldsmobile they call PA Cresta. Now why oh why didn't they send someone over to Flint before Buick dropped the lightweight 215CI V8? It was left to Rover to snap up the tooling and make some glorious cars, when logically the engine should have been in the Cresta from the moment it left the drawing board. And yes, I know they've been built privately since... 8) Well done, those brave backyard engineers.

There was one of those Mighty Boys for sale on eBay a little while ago. The seller described it as "ideal for picking up a case of beer!"

The previous owner of my A40 has a Mighty Boy, which is his regular car! He's a retired police officer too, so takes up quite a bit of the cab...
