Ive got the HORN for these MK1 200's big time

There is a First Cymru bus driver who has one of these, a E plate 213 in that light metallic blue that I always see passing me.

Have this one on me -

BTW, when I googled the above image the Autoshite banner, Pete C avatar and Neg Creep's avatar all came up in the first few pages of search results

That black 213 is spectacular, I am seriously full of want! Look after that and it will be a car for life!

Lovely 213. Not ever driven one and only really looked inside one when my mate Brad had one.

Saw a Black 216 being driven down the M5 just off the M6 heading south some months back. Belongs *I think* to somone either on Macdroitwich or ARonline.

My Dad had three 200s in the '80s/early '90s, the last of which was one of these:

A 216 Sprint - a faux sporty special edition with the rubber Vitesse spoiler and everything else colour coded in stiletto white. Pure class. I wish I could find one for meself.

The 213s came with 12v Honda engines (Dad's first two were these), and the 216 came with an AR lump. The 213 were, according to him, immeasurably better built. Did Honda build the 213s and Rover the 216s perhaps?

I saw that 213 at Peterborough - its a lovely example of a once common, now very rare, car - pure gold autoshite!

Even better that it was a 213 yet was bought by a funeral company - presumably as a car for the deceased's family to travel in behind the hearse.

Usually these were at least Granada/Carlton size, often stretched ones.

Could have worse, the undertakers could have got a black five door Metro I suppose!

Na, all AR built.1342cc 12v EV Honda is spookily quiet. A mate of mine had on and nearly wrecked the starter motor on his 213 as he kept trying to start it when it was already running.

I've posted this before, but I learned to drive and passed my test in this 216S. Loved it!

Ha, they're really quiet. AR made a deal to build the cars in England - I think the Ballades were built here as well?

I felt no love for my first one, which was a poo-brown gold colour, a bloke in the garage when I was paying for petrol said 'Is your's the, er, brown, gold, sand, er ...'. It had terrible vibration problems over 50mph, so when I was usually driving to work late at 80mph with a massive hangover, my brain was rattling about in my head causing me massive pain.

My dad changed the water pump on the following blue one we had, and didn't time it up properly, and mashed the whole engine - I think he actually stuck the belt on, as if it were an alternator belt, with the pulleys all over the place - I still remember his face when he came in. I still have the wheels off it. It was too uncool for me at the time, but it's the only car I've had that just 'drove'.
