Maxi under bonnet fire!

As I am really missing my Maxi I have decided to buy another.

 

I have seen this on e-bay which has had a underbonnet fire.

 

Has anyone on here any experience of the (hidden) damage an underbonnet fire might cause?

 

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Hang on, that car is due to be collected by Jon Cedric over on RR, its already been "sold" once! Collection was arranged, then the guy put it off because of the breakup of his marriage, next its on ebay!

Personally with tidy Maxis with good engines selling for peanuts I'd wouldn't bother with this one anyway, You could end up spending £100's and hours of your time trying to get it fixed, Spend a tiny bit more and get yourself a pucker one i'd say.

Alas Trigger is right (alas because they don't seem to fetch much) and I concur with him.

 

I'm bloody sure that's also been for sale elsewhere on the net and was possibly on the Maxi owner's forum thing.

Definately will, thanks. Hopefully it will be the 14's first long(ish) journey in the UK. Just waiting for the DVLA to tell what the reg number is going to be!

Not sure yet tbh. He just said the car is in Chester, will message him and make some arrangements and find out exactly where. I have never actually been to Chester so would be a good opportunity to do some sight seeing.

 

The car is in his garage (it was his fathers) and has been of the road since 1994.

Plus Chester is the only place where you can legally shoot a Welshman after midnight with a longbow if he is with in the city walls..

I've been told it went to someone who was going to restore it, so with a bit of luck it's the tidy one. It was a lovely car, I'd have happily had it back if I'd had the money spare. Write down the number, then you can check next time you're passing...

I've heard you can shoot a Welshman with a crossbow from the banks of the Bristol estuary alsong as he is on the Welsh side of the estuary. Its 100% LEGAL.
