Whilst my wife was on holiday I was feeling brave/bored/adventurous. I really shouldn't be left unattended, a bid on ebay, and a few days later I found myself catching a train from Manchester to Swindon to "view" a potential new addition to the fleet.

About an hour after arriving, somehow, I was the proud new owner of Pamela the 205, a lovely 1992 convertible..... and it then rained for the next 48hrs

94,000 miles, a bit of history with it from over the last 34 years. Goes quite nicely, 1.4 with a blowy exhaust, steering lovely. Rust fairly minimal, needs wheel bearings, suspension rebuild, engine mount, 3rd gear is knackered.

Get so many compliments about the driveway off visitors, missus isn't overly happy but I have a big smile 😊

Maybe it's just a marker of my age, but "CJ" always makes me think of Reggie Perrin.

"I didn't get where I am today without blezzing about in a stylish French convertible"

Looks lovely. So far, a 205 is the only car I've lost to car thieves. It was gorgeous; a perfect design and remarkably resistant to tinworm. I was properly upset about that one, but it was a hardtop diesel so yours is way cooler.

I bet your other half will enjoy getting out and about over the summer, with the top down - she'll come around! Great buy :)

You need a Ken of the Purple Barges to confirm.

Great for collecting eggs

Had a yellow 205 diesel when I was young, it was brilliant and probably explains why i grin so much driving these older peugeots now

Someone commented to the missus the other day, "you dont see many old peugeots around anymore". She replied "I do, they are all on my fking drive". She hasn't come around yet, and I have had the 106 for 1.5years now

Love an early 106, remember mine very fondly. It's a car I'd definitely like to own again.

Your 205 looks like a nice example, congratulations.

Peugeots of the 90s were fantastically rust proof, one reason why there's so many 205s left, far more than actual buyers for them (except GTIs of course)

The 106 is very faded up top, but classic and we did lejog last year

The 205 has a few little niggles but have started on them over the last month.

New steering wheel as the old one was really cracked

The interior carpet is custom I believe, got the original receipt for that. Not overly keen on it.

Suspension strip down and refurb at the front, needs new wheel bearings so thought I would go all out.

Nicer speakers fitted.

Took seat covers off, then promptly put them back on, well worn seats

Previous owner donated their Madonna cd with it, not my taste so may give that away 🤣

Yeah, considering the wheelarches were full of mud, rust isnt too bad, top of the osf wheelarch has gone a bit too far and will need some work on it at some point, rest of it seems fairly solid
