Weekend shite plans?

Riding in a vinyl seated tobacco smoke filled Kia Magentis taxi to the airport on Sunday evening with my luggage on my lap as the boot is full of LPG bottle.

It's already Sunday evening here. Was a cold and very very wet weekend, so this afternoon I took the Rover for a good blast to the town of Tokoroa, 50km each way. The car drove perfectly and the sun came out at the end of the day. Enjoyable :D

I have been to my mates to pick the wheels up for the Pao so I can polish them up, and on the way back I stopped and took some pics of the Capri :)

Looking really nice that Mike, perfect stance and wheels combo I reckon.

My plans mostly fell to shit this weekend. Did my back in so a lot of plans went to pot. Except going on the razz last night

Had a blast on the Vespa, thoroughly enjoyed it too. Although I ride it often I can still forget how much pleasure can be drived from two wheelers.

Fired the Chinky moped up, seems to be running well so had a short blast on a private road.

Actually started in earnest on the 190E, think I'll start a thread about that as really hoping I can make some progress on it at last.

As I suspected, had an even lazier day today than yesterday. Laid some more Hammerite on my A40 tank, fed the cats, uncovered the pool for Mrs Ramrod, read an entire Bernard Cornwell sailing novel, gave the Capri a quick wash then took it out to see Costas, so we could chat about a forthcoming car club event. Home, had my tea, Get Carter on TCM. You're a big lad but you're in bad shape. With me, it's a full-time job. 8)

On the Ginetta:

1. Replace the indicator bulb

2. Replace the brake light bulb

3. Re-check all the chassis earths if new bulbs doesn't fix it

It was a broken wire on the front indicator - gas soldering iron to the rescue 8) Dirty contacts on the brake light bulb, and a blown fuse on a tail light.

4. Make up some brackets for the passenger side Recaro seat

5. Try and stop the exhaust from clonking at the back, or buzzing in the middle.

Made a start on seat brackets for the passenger seat but I had to fix the driver’s seat because the rubber base had split. That’s no repaired so I’m not sitting as low as a Saxo driver.

The clonking exhaust can go fuck itself, for the moment.

Or possibly none of those things cos I might go and look at a Land Rover project if the bloke ever phones me and tells me where he lives

Bloke didn’t phone me, despite me doing the “ask seller a question†thing and leaving my phone number and e-mail address.

I thought I might bump this to see if we can make it a thread we visit on a weekly basis, a bit like a prelude to the news 24 thread.

Anyhow.......

This weekend I'll investigate the reasons for the intermittent indicator failiure on my W124. When the interior gets warm they sometimes stop working and only slamming the drivers door will make them work again. If that goes swimmingly then I might put my hand in my pocket for a tub of instant wing and start on the bodywork.

Anyone else got any shite related plans?

As I have a weekend off, I will be re-lining the pick-up bed with vinyl on the Deer and getting the cam belt done too.

Also planning a road trip from New Buckenham to Reutlingen in South Germany which I will do either later this month, or early next. Picking a nice route and selecting a vehicle to take. BMW, Jag or borrow the Rover 75. The Jag will probably cost over £400 in fuel, the Rover half that, but with no Ipod connection (is there a CD converter like a cassette jobbie?). The BMW is a happy medium with all entertainment angles covered. The Jag may not be finished in time, but it's firm favourite at the moment.

/\/\/\ There are small FM transmiters that attach to an mp3 player and allow you to tune the car radio to listen to whatever you have on there.

Auto related - change the alloys on the 323 to its winter (steel) wheels; :D

Fit new tyres to the trailer tent. The current ones (145 x 10) are car tyres and god knows what age.

The new ones are almost twice the load index capacity so next year I will feel happpier about not having enough load capacity on my tyres. Instead of 315kg per tyre I will have 500kgs per tyre capacity. :D:D:D

While the wheels are off I shall prep and repaint them in wheel steel from Halfrauds.:lol::lol:

Oh forgot to add I shall spend more money and throw some more waxoyl under the 1 where BMW can't be arsed to paint. :x:x:x:x

Finally getting around to fitting my NoS ebay special stainless exhaust on the Triumph, thus allowing me to attend the Stondon gig without choking to death on the way :D

If I can be arsed I'll head to New Brighton tomorrow for the stages rally,
