They do rust though, let's not forget how salty it is in the UK. This is (nearly was!) a 50k example earlier this year.

It may have been damaged, who knows.

Either way, a good 2.4 156 is a great car and I've never had one ( 8 total I think) which hasn't been a really enjoyable car.  Don't worry about the rust.

This is what usually happens when it’s damaged, and either not patched up properly or a hole left to fester. I know as mine suffers from similar rot. 😕 Otherwise they’re galvanized, so it’s rather rare to have one looking like it was lifted from the bottom of the sea.

Terms and conditions apply obviously, and they do like a sill as it’s the most exposed bit.

its always scary to me when I watch  a Yank video and underneath is fully bluetooth yet they still drive the damn thing..Scary that even now rustproofing is not used that much inthe states

Also the roads out here around Northumberland/Durham are absolutely glorious! Perfect place for a last drive of your old car and to get to know your new one 😊

They are, just don't expect an EV charge in rural Northumbria.

People abandoned me and I ended up stuck for hours, dud SIM card so couldn't call anyone, 2 miles away from a charger.

The 156 looks lovely, always wanted a shot of one.

You're welcome to have a drive of it next time I come up for veg oil 😊 I'm absolutely enthralled by it. Took it to Glasgow and back last night, along more familiar roads.

The chassis is glorious, the turning circle is excellent, the seats are very comfy and it feels far more planted than you'd expect from a FWD car.

Incidentally, I had my first drive of an EV when I was down picking up the Alfa.

It's a Volvo XC40 coupe I believe. @mattywatsitcan give you the specs on it but it made the Alfa feel like a tractor 😆 Once I got over the weirdness of moving with no noise, I really enjoyed the smoothness and it didn't feel all that different to drive compared to an ICE car. I could definitely live with one in the future if I had to 😉
