I like the fact that their road test includes a 180 degree reverse spin.

It's what they used in the 70s instead of NCAP stars

That's marvellous! I had to watch the reverse spin again, it was so well executed! Try doing that with an Audi A4... The 455 engine is 7.5 litres, so considering the US had only just had things like catalytic converters forced on them, 10mpg isn't too bad. Who's going to drive it like that in real life? I used to get 18 regularly out of my 7 litre Cadillac... :D (my mate with a 3.9 Range Rover was jealous, he couldn't beat 12 in daily use).

That would be 10mpUSg which si a fair bit smaller too. SO perhaps as much as 12mpUKg.

A great video. I reckon that guy went on to become world DriFt champion in a Pinto engine'd 75 Mustang 2.

That fella has uploaded a ton of road tests from US TV show "MotorWeek", which is very reminiscent of old-style (Chris Goffey/William Woolard) Top Gear. GR8 stuff!

Bet those side scallops on the Cutlass were a magnet for parking dents...

I can't see why swivel seats never caught on.

I think it's 'cos everyone was doing 180 degree reverse spins - if the seat wasn't well locked in place you wound up facing the rear screen.
