Right, here is some photos from the Burley and Wharfedale classic car show we went to today.

Was quite good. Not loads of cars but some good variety not the usual dozens of MGs you normally get.

Not sure if this is the same one i spotted near work? Cant remember if it was an estate or not and i did not get the numberplate because of the advert infront of it.

This was definately the best thing on show though (other than the DAF obviously). A Crossley with a machine gun

Nah its not the same the one on the drive is definately a saloon (see the two door handles on the passenger side), also this estate has a chrome surround on the grille (swiped from a Ghia) the drive way Escort has the standard all black grille.

Some great pics - and despite being local to some of these it's amazing how many you never see. Ref the garage on the previous page, I called in there 3 weeks ago and had a chat with the owner, really nice old guy. Let me have a proper wander round. He says he's a compulsive horder (sound familiar) he says his customers ring him, say they have a car and he buys them. That MGC was bought about 6 years ago, he said at that time it only needed a weeks work doing to it but like everything else it just got left. That BX is a really early Gti - looks well passed it though.

I enquired if he would sell any but the answer was no unless it was a stupid offer, I enquired about the Bedford camper, but he wasn't that interested in selling it, says he has all the parts to restore. Started to have a closer look and the bodywork is well shot

In the garage is just as Autoshite friendly/ a real step back in time. I've often been near hear but never passed until 3 weeks ago, thing is in 1988 I bought my first car - a 1964 Ford Anglia about a mile from this place - oh the memories...

I was sure the one on the drive was a saloon, bit was not sure. Good skills. Were you good at spot the difference as a kid?

I am probably going to take some cars there for their MOT (cant remember if they do them there) or at least an MOT prep etc as apparently he seems to know what he is doing with older car (despite not appearing to do anything to the cars outside).

If he has all the parts to restore that Commer, I assume he has a whole other Commer to ring  . It did look a bit rough. Cant believe it was last on the road in 05. Would be great to roll around in that.
