Good turnout of stuff, quite a few not seen before. Finally got to meet Mr & Mrs Seth, a pleasure, hello again! Found Boobydoo's Simca and left a calling card, alas owner wasn't present. Rained a little half way through but didnt really spoil it.

So to the highlights.

That looks like a great show, Mid week seems a strange day for a show like that to be one and it's still very busy as well, I seem to remember it raining last year IIRC.

Posted

And finally some more upmarket stuff of interest

Qual! Saves me sorting my pictures out for the time being. Nice to be in your company for a bit Mr E-L. I see you photographed the Hillman when it was full of other folk!

That DB4 Zagato was a recreation. Still wanted something near £200k for it though.

My flabber is gasted.

Early 500 & 600 had 'porte di auto-morte'.

I wonder who/what designed this, and how. And why.

That's an Allard, Michel I think ol' Sydney thought a bit a bout styling the front end but then just used a blancmange as "inspiration" for the rest,

really love that 504 Estate, great pics squire :D

:D Even the prettiest Allards (J2) never look entirely 'right' to me...

I had booked the Daf 44 in but took it to Edinburgh last week instead - great show I was there yesterday, huge number of cars - more of a festival of motoring than a car show as such

What a stunning collection! A Pug 504 estate, a Renault 6! I see Vauxhall had a couple of their Heritage cars there (burgundy Cav Mk1, metallic blue Victor FE). Amazing.

I see I'm not the only one with a stripey BX estate either...

WHY DID NO-ONE REMIND ME THIS WAS TODAY?

YOU'RE ALL BASTARDS!

Only became aware about an hour before it started, soz Pog!

I've been 4 or 5 times Trig and it's rained at each and every one! I point the finger squarely at St Swithin.

I thought the boot full of Lego was a good touch!

Did wonder about that Zagato. Also the red Stratos maybe? And there was a fresh looking Porsche 550 which, upon examination of the tax disc, turned out to be a Skoda!

Did you see a Cardinal hearse there?

Yes I did, I remember reading a list of names written down the side of it. Was it yours Mr. /b?

One of the 'give aways' when it come to a genuine Stratos is the number of wheelnuts.

Of the two examples pictured one has 4 per wheel, the other 5.

Unfortunately I have no idea which one is which though. FAIL. Sorry.

Posted

Hawk says re their replica coffin spokes:

Stud pattern for Lancia/Ferrari PCD (108mm, as per original Stratos),

or for Alfa Romeo five-stud PCD (98mm, for fitment to HF3000 replicas)

So five is fake, and the one pictured is real I guess?

Edit: Me FAIL too, at the bottom of the page is written 'These wheels are not available with a four-stud fitting.'

I R kunfuzd nao. Guess the one pictured is a fake, and the only way to tell a Hawk rep from a real one is to measure the PCD (or just have a look at the engine)...
