Here are some pieces of bilge that I have espied over the last few weeks.

I hope you enjoy them and critique of their themes & quality may be welcome at the end.

Stretch-shite beruit taxi, close to home.

Posted Image

Vast yank-shite. Note the avant-garde artistic style of presentation.

Posted Image

Excessively body-styled J-van, near Seth's house.

Posted Image

What a honey!

Posted Image

On my manor, added bonus for the trailer tent thing: Are you jealous Seth?

Posted Image

Posted Image

Non-scene & "autoshite" paint tones justify inclusion. Spied in King's Cross:

Posted Image

Mini, captured through my office window. Really should get someone to wash the windows.

Posted Image

Cortina, giving it some well down the M1. Nicely scabby close up.

Posted Image

This St Albans BMW had spotless bodywork and all the right bits. However the hood wad shredded and the shoddy parking leads one to suspect that it has fallen int the hands of a nit-wit.

Posted Image

Mildew covered Tipo discovered on a trip to the park with the Poglets.

Posted Image

Regularly see this F-type Victor when travelling to work. Driven with gusto & in all weathers: Given the ancient tech and these cars incredible ability to rot, this man must be a masochist.

Posted Image

Scene alert!

Posted Image

S-class hasn't moved in years. Very grotty.

Posted Image

Discovered on a trip to a farm:

Posted Image

One from some time ago: Snapped this combo of old-giffer Escort and magnificently shite static caravan last year in Norfolk. Perhaps it can be hired for a week - autoshite summer holiday!

Posted Image

I had also hoped to show you a obscently shite Mk2 Escort that I spotted yesterday, but the image has vanished off my phone. I will get it next time I pass.

Hope these pictures are to your satisfaction.

Love that retro trailer tent with the Toledo...Mk3 pov spec Escort looks tidy as well...

Posted

Love the handbrake parking of the scort , note the marks on the road:roll:

I'm with RegRit, that Guilietta is lovely.Noticed that you're always on the inside lane in those on-the-move shots (taken by your passenger, obviously).

Yup, granny-driving FTW. I find that my van is thrashy and unpleasant at speed, what with that twitchy electric PAS & rather short gearing so it rarely gets much above 60. I think the F-series was doing about 70 when he came past.

Funnily enough I spotted this little wonder in Kennington about 3 weeks ago, tried to get Mrs Sid to snap it and ended up with a red blur, proof ifit were needed that birds are shite with anything technical

What a honey!

Kennington eh?That pic was at Clerkenwell Green (I was on "snout break" from imbibing ale at a nearby inn), so clearly well used. :)

Posted

The Toledo is gorgeous, was owned by a guy called Neil in the Dolomite Club, not sure if he sold it or still owns it though. One of the very earliest survivors and he did a first class resto on it.

Posted

Re the rear morror photo..very artistic..see kennedys captures p 10could it be the same chev wagon. It's definitely the same model Chev, and black too !!

Posted

Yes, I think it is the same one, the two are pictured less than 10 miles apart, and I had "tracked" my spot from Seth-territory. :)

Posted

They are all lovely, but the Toledo + trailer takes the Hobnob. :D

Posted

I can't believe anyone would actually use an F type Victor as a daily driver!! Can't decide if he's worthy of respect for his bravery, or condemnation for risking such a rarity!! Or maybe it's actually got a Cossie motor and was thoroughly rust-protected when it was restored?!!

I believe that this is literally the other side of the road from Pog's photo. That's probably even the same Benz in the background!! Seen about a year ago I think?

Posted Image

Clerkenwell Green, just by that lovely "Crown Tavern"?

Posted

Think so! I was in the grand old building top-right in your photo for a conference. Never been before and now that I'm seemingly back in Jersey for good, unlikely to again!

Posted

I present the findings of this week.

Apologies for the poor quality of this selection.

Posted Image

NOT twin rear wipers

(Don't know what the tape is about!?)

Posted Image

"Hopped up" Astravan was nice from 10 yards but close up was growing a nice film of mildew. Shitey non-runner Scorpio lurks behind.

Posted Image

Crayford (?) Cortina

Posted Image

... and a TWO DOOR MkV - these are like rocking horse turds, no? Looked not bad but clearly also immobile/garden ornament status

Posted Image

And SPOT OF THE WEEK: I noticed this Rekord Estate hidden in a farmyard and did a quick about-turn to snap for your delight. What a honey!

Posted

Thought for a horrible moment that the focus of your first pic in that bunch was the hideous new Renner thing. Fortunately I haven't seen one in the flesh yet (not much market for that segment in Jersey).

Jersey isn't into Lagunas? :? I have to say, I quite like this new one, it has a sort of charm with it's grille less front end. Think MkI Carlton.Speaking of Carlton's, it's interesting that you don't seem to see any more MkI Carltons than you do Opel Rekord Es! There are relatively quite a few Kadett Cs about too considering that Chevettes ought to & must have outnumbered them!

Wow! - I was trying to take photos of that out the van window just the other week. Finchley road, right?

Absolute honker of a monstrosity....

Would be passable if the inside was decorated like a mid 70s council house olive green bathroom tho....

Same Merc. and Honda aswell

Although saying this, today I saw a new Laguna saloon (yes saloon) pass us in the opposite direction, & from what I can tell, it is the spit of the new C5 saloon! Since when have Citroen & Renault tied up on anything?! Result: disappointing
Posted

I have to say that I find the new Laguna quite ugly - the worst looking of the new generation of repmobiles. The interior is much better though. I think the new C5 looks good, although I have not seen one 'one in the flesh' yet. I disliked the old C5, styling wise it was a real step back from the Xantia, which I always really liked the look of, a nice crisp shape.Saw two C6s on the M4 driving home on Friday - they are out there!

Jersey isn't into anything repmobile really, never has been. Top seller long has been and still is the Fiesta but most are rental cars with the majority going back to the UK for onward retail. Surprisingly popular are tall narrow things like the Honda Jazz and Daewoo Matiz, reasonable numbers of Cit C1/Pug 107 too (fuggin awful boxes those). Not so many Golf-sized cars, very few Vectras etc. Plenty big BMWs/Range Rovers/Bentleys etc however
Posted

Don't forget all the LHD exotica found idling in the traffic jams into St Helier every morning!I don't know if Jersey is the same, but anything bigger than a Fiesta in Guernsey invariably has automatic transmission fitted. Makes sense given that, in effect, it's all "urban crawl" whereever you go.

So, last night I had to go over and cough up for my shitey trailer (purchased from a nice leggy blonde lass with oily fingers!!!!). The farm where it was being kept was a veritable cornucopia of old grot, about 100 old motorbikes were dotted about the place. I didn't picture them as I know naff all about them. Here's some bilge which I did capture though...

There's also some very special shite there which I will capture next time as I have to there again.

Some additions for my rather tawdry thread.

Firstly, a re-spot!

Posted Image

F-series Victor again, now appears to be breaking out in red oxide primer.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Astra/Kadett from the continent, complete with tasteful home-brew paint job.

Today: A brace of Crapi's!

Posted Image

Blue one appeared to be "X-packed" and had some mega-wide wheels, but also sported a nice coat of slime. There was also a CPTC in the garden, seemingly another capri.

On way home from work, spotted a slightly dilapidated barn at the roadside, something told me it was worth further investigation. SCORE!!

Posted Image

Firstly this dusty, axle-less Corsair. DEE-LISH.

Kept company by this:

Posted Image

Triumphantly knackered!

About 100 yards away was this:

Posted Image

Bit "retro-rides" perhaps with the wheels & .de-font plates, but the rusty door and dodgy hood merited inclusion. For sale with 12 months ticket, I have the details if anyone wants a cheap 'vert for the summer.

And accompanied by a piss-easy piss-tarp:
